Texas landlady turns ex-brothel 'haunted by horny ghosts' into spooky tourist attraction for Halloween
GAINESVILLE, TEXAS: A Texas landlady claims that one of her properties is an abandoned brothel that is haunted by hypersexual ghosts. Linda Hill says that her property, called the Hill House Manor, is unrentable because of the horny ghosts lurking in the shadows. She has now turned it into a spooky tourist spot available during Halloween, the best time for horror encounters.
According to Linda, the manor was a brothel back in the 19th century, which she thinks explains why the spirits of prostitutes and their clients still roam the house on Denton Street. Linda previously received many complaints from her tenants when the haunted house was open for accommodation. A resident claimed to have heard groaning voices of people saying, "oh baby, oh baby, yeah" and "yeah, I like that," during their stay. However, the owner did not believe the claims until she experienced an eerie incident herself.

Had to cut it from the story for time, but it's a literal well.

Built on the original property. Living room built over it decades later. Current owners have encased it in this plexiglass container. Water is fresh and tasty, they say.

Linda claims to have heard a sly male voice complimenting her while she was in the shower one day. "Looking good," said the male spirit, as stated by the home's owner. Linda initially thought that it was her husband. However, her husband soon walked into the washroom and asked her who she was talking to. "And it was like 'oh my god, it really is haunted,'" said Linda to WFAA.
Linda has been unable to retain tenants for long periods - 10 of them have moved out in two years. The longest stay at the haunted house lasted only six months. The landlady is now prepping up the Hill House Manor for paying visitors. She has decorated the house with a porcelain doll to add the effect of a frightening adventure.
This is not the first time Linda has marketed her most profitable asset. In 2011, she published 'Hill House Manor: The Guest Book', highlighting the investigations and stories told by the previous occupants. She continued to advertise the house by recording its most recent horror stories in a 2020 book titled, 'Hill House Manor: 13 Ghost Stories'.
The owner maintains that the house, which dates back to the 1840s, is built on the land of a former brothel. Moreover, out of the many spooky occurrences, an upstairs door cracking open after being shut forcibly stands out after it was caught on camera. Linda also claims to have unreleased audio proof of two aroused ghosts indulging in intercourse.
Finally, there is a living room dubbed as the 'Murder room' which completes the haunted Manor. "Almost every psychic that walks in here sees a dead man lying on the floor," said Linda. It has a 19-foot-deep well underneath that some people believe to be a spiritual portal. The well is apparently the key to the otherworldly spirits and ghosts ending up in the room and the one beside it. A Plexiglas cube has been built at the center of the living room for the visitors to get a good look down at the gaping well.
