MOSCOW, IDAHO: In the aftermath of the Idaho murders, social media has been discussing various cases that were similar to these killings. Many compared the case to Gainesville Ripper Danny Rolling's murders. While some said it resembled Ted Tundy's attack on women in the Chi Omega house in Tallahassee, others remembered the murder of University of North Carolina student Faith Hedgepeth. Some even talked the Grangegorman killings. The Internet has now recalled the Clear Lake Texas murders.
"Anyone familiar with this case notice the many similarities here? I just desperately hope this case doesn't go unsolved as long as Clear Lake. I can't shake the feeling this was close and EXTREMLY personal," a user wrote on Reddit.

In the Idaho murders, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, were stabbed to death in an off-campus three-story rented home in the early morning hours of November 13. Authorities have said that the gory scene where the students were killed was the “worst they’ve ever seen."

Christine Marie Paolilla is an American woman who was convicted of shooting four of her friends dead in 2002. The killings became known as the Clear Lake Massacre. Paolilla and her then-boyfriend, 21 year-old Christopher Lee Snider, went to her friend Tiffany Rowell's house on July 18, 2003. Paolila was 17 at the time. Tiffany and Rachael Koloroutis, Tiffany's boyfriend Marcus Precella, and Marcus' cousin Adelbert Sanchez were also present at the house. Paolila later said that she and her boyfriend decided to get drugs at the house. However, Snider reportedly got into an argument with Precella, which led to the murders of Rowell, Koloroutis, Precella, and Sanchez.
The case remained unsolved more than three years after the murders. Police arrested Paolilla inside a San Antonio, Texas hotel room in July 2006 after receiving an anonymous tip. She was convicted of four counts of capital murder on October 13, 2008.
While both the Idaho slayings and the Clear Lake killings are quadruple murders of four young people, the murder weapon in the Idaho case was a knife and that in the Texas case was a gun. In the Texas incident, the case was drug-related.
Social media users expressed their concerns over how long the case may remain unsolved. "Eventually if it remains unsolved perhaps a substantial reward will squeeze out much needed information. Someone knows," one user wrote. Another said, "It seems impossible someone wouldn't know, or suspect. But anyone with knowledge would be terrified of a person who could slaughter 4 people, and has every reason not to come forward."
"I think the point is those people were murdered by their friend- potentially insinuating the possibility that one of the roommates/friend and her bf could have planned and executed this from inside," one user wrote. One said, "That case was the first thing I thought of when I first heard of these murders."
