'Temptation Island': Rick and Ashley G leave the island together despite their setbacks
Ashley G and her boyfriend Rick have been together for over 4 years on and off thanks to Rick’s roving eyes. So, when Ashley brought her boyfriend to ‘Temptation Island’, we were sure that Rick would give in to the temptation. But surprise, surprise, Rick stayed loyal while Ashley G ended up getting into bed with tempter KB on the first night itself, thus putting her relationship at risk.
While Rick watched his girlfriend week after week getting intimate with her tempter, he had temptress Medinah by his side to console him. We had almost given up hope for this couple, until Rick saw a glimmer of hope for his relationship. Once Ashley got into the ugly fight with KB and booted him off the island, she had time to ponder over her relationship and realized that she still loved Rick. On Rick’s end, Medinah was making some serious moves on Rick, but Rick played it safe, and used his time on the island to grow as a person and evolved into an amazing man. Rick made it clear to Medinah that he can’t pursue anything serious with her while he was still in love with his girlfriend.
Before the final bonfire, Ashley G expressed her fears that maybe Rick might have “outgrown” her and hopes that he “forgives” her. Thankfully, Rick shows a tremendous amount of maturity and sees past Ashley’s fling with KB, by remembering about all the times she has forgiven him in the past for same mistake. At the bonfire, Rick comes clean to her and tells her about Medinah and admits that at one point he almost fell for her, but now they have “great friendship”. He then talks about all that he has learned on the island.
Ashley then reveals to him why she cheated on him. She tells that when Rick told her he’s not cuffing her while choosing their first date, she felt insecure and felt that he didn’t care about their relationship or her. Ashley owns up to all her mistakes and makes it clear that she regrets hooking up with KB. When Mark asks Ashley to share her decision about who she wants to leave the island with, she asks Rick to go first. Rick then expresses his disappointment with watching KB and her together and her comments about Rick which she was with him, but he finally declares his love for her and says he wants to leave the island with her. Ashley sighs with relief, and the happy couple leaves together.

Rick later says in his confessional that he thinks their relationship can survive anything now that they manages to survive ‘Temptation Island’. Fans were thrilled to see Rick pick Ashley G over Medinah. A fan tweeted, "I think if you really look at it, even when Rick was with Medinah, you can tell the connection was there, but not chemistry. So you know Rick still had feelings for Ashley! #TemptationIsland". "I’m actually glad Rick and Ashley left together. They’ve both made mistakes Ashley’s transgressions were just televised. #TemptationIsland", wrote another fan.
Fans couldn’t stop singing praises of Rick. A fan commented, "I’m so happy that Rick has definitely grown through this experience. #TemptationIsland". Another fan shared, "Y'all, I am so proud of Rick. I counted him out from the casting show, but now, I have the biggest crush on him. He did good. Real good. #TemptationIsland #TemptationThursday". "I think Rick is just doing the right thing. His new growth will not let him deal with Ashley childish BS so let’s see how long it last now #TemptationIsland", wondered a fan.
