The all-new season of 'Teen Mom OG' sheds some light on the domestic violence incident that involved Amber Portwood. Before the show aired, Amber made headlines after audio clips of her surfaced on YouTube in September 2019, which revealed some disturbing details of the TV star's abusive behavior towards her ex-boyfriend, Andrew Glennon.

Since then, Amber has been tight-lipped about the violent events which surfaced online. However, with the new season coming in, viewers got a chance to see how Amber tackled the situation when the news made headlines for all the wrong reasons. She confessed that ever since the incident happened she was feeling guilty of her actions.

Amber confessed that she felt like she should have taken a leave rather than staying and letting the situation get worse. She also added that she felt embarrassed about seeing how she had handled the situation. Ever since the incident occurred, Amber has not made many public appearances.

She did reveal that the incident took away everything that she had ever worked for.  Amber also said that her mental health had been affected because of the incident. The reality star had mentioned on her social media that she had been feeling drained out because of her mental health issues and how slowly they were taking a toll on her life.

Other cast members also defended Amber's actions, stating that she had been struggling with her mental health.

While Amber made it clear that the incident affected her mental health badly, some fans thought that she was using it as an excuse to hide her actions. Many took to social media to discuss how Amber should have been more careful rather than blaming her mental health for her actions.

"Still blaming her mental health. She just has a bad temper and disposition. Oh yes. She worked hard her entire life? How bout she got lucky with MTV ????" one user questioned on Twitter. Another added, "Done with Amber’s drama. She makes poor choices and blames it on her mental health issues."

Another explained, "Despicable that y'all continue to pay a woman who was caught on camera committing domestic violence. If that was one of the father's he'd be chastised as he should be. Mental health issues or not right is right and wrong is wrong."

Mental health has also been a sensitive topic and though many celebrities are hailed for opening up on the topic, it seems like Amber's actions in real life are making it hard for viewers to accept her.
