LOS ANGELES, CALIFRONIA: A teacher at a private girls' school has alleged that she was "humiliated" after being told to apologize to 11-year-old students for referring to them as girls. Reports reveal that the teacher had greeted her class with "good afternoon, girls" at the beginning of a lecture, which led to complaints from the students. Administrators at the $24,800-per-year institution then instructed the teacher to apologize.

The next day, when the teacher returned to class, the students had clearly stated their names and pronouns on the board, including one student who used they/them pronouns, after informing her that "not everyone here identifies as female." In response to the teacher's refusal to comply with their demands, the students organized a noontime protest. The philosophy and religious education teacher stated last night that she was "managed out" by senior staff at the elite school, which is a part of the independent Girls' Day School Trust, but only after being made to apologize in front of the entire school.

'Good afternoon, girls'

The individual, who spoke at a review of the treatment of child and adolescent gender dysphoria under the direction of pediatrician Dr Hilary Cass last week, claimed that the issues started in May 2021 after several Year 7 students protested when she said, "good afternoon, girls," as she entered the classroom, as reported by Daily Mail.

One of the students challenged her to "acknowledge" their pronouns after she explained that not everyone identified as female. However, the teacher responded that she would need to involve the parents if the students' pronouns did not match their biological sex. The teacher asked for anonymity to safeguard the students, as per reports.

'I had to apologize to the girls'

However, her superior allegedly informed her that she was unaware of the terms or whether her parents had been contacted about the matter. She claimed that senior staff members appeared to support the students during a lunchtime protest organized by the students against the teacher. She said, "I was told that they made placards with slogans such as 'Trans lives matter.' Before the end of the week, I was in some sort of disciplinary process and the head of year was telling me I had to apologize to the girls."

The teacher believes she was 'managed out'

The teacher claimed that less than a week had passed since the sixth form's 'diversity and inclusion' prefects had given an assembly on gender and pronouns before the issues began. The 17 and 18-year-olds presented a movie about gender identities and how sex is determined at birth during the session. The tutor believes she was "managed out" because she wouldn't give in to her students' demands based on their gender, as reported by NYbreaking.

The Girls' Day School Trust, a collection of 25 schools and academies, came under fire in January 2022 after revising its gender identification policy in a contentious way that barred applicants who are legally male but identify as transgender or non-binary. The trust justified the action, asserting that it was necessary to maintain the single-sex status of its institutions. Furthermore, a trust spokeswoman declined requests for comment, as per reports.
