Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen reportedly met on a blind date in 2006 and hit it off right away. The NFL pro and the supermodel may look like the perfect couple, but the couple is not afraid to admit that their relationship has had ups and downs.

After 13 years of marriage and two children together, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen are facing trouble in paradise. The supermodel was set up on a blind date with the professional football player in December 2006 and she "knew right away" he was the one. Want to know more? 1. Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen 2006 - 2012

After the couple met through friends in 2006, Brady and Bündchen started seeing each other that often. She told Vanity Fair, "We met through a friend. The moment I saw him, he smiled and I was like, ‘That is the most beautiful, charismatic smile I’ve ever seen!’ We sat and talked for three hours. I had to go home for Christmas, but I didn’t want to leave. You know that feeling of, like, you can’t get enough? From the first day we met, we’ve never spent one day without speaking to each other.”


The couple experienced their first ups and downs when they learned in early 2007 that Brady and his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan had fathered a baby, although Brady had broken up with his ex-girlfriend before meeting Bündchen. Their son Jack was born in August. In a 2009 interview with Vanity Fair, Bündchen spoke about the "surprise" pregnancy, noting that it was a "wake-up call" for the new couple, who had only been dating for two months at the time. Ultimately, she called the shock a blessing, saying it made her fall even more in love with him and their relationship grew even stronger. Brady and Bündchen said yes in a ceremony in Santa Monica, California, in February 2009, 10 days after their engagement. In December 2009, Bündchen gave birth to their first child together, a baby boy named Benjamin. Three years later, the couple welcomed their second child, Vivian, who was born in December 2012.


Bündchen has always supported her husband's soccer career over the years. She and the children are often seen together cheering Brady on at his games. Bündchen made headlines in February 2012 when she defended Brady after the Patriots' loss to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI.


2. Brady says, "I’ve been very blessed to have an incredible relationship with my life partner" 2015 - 2019

A source told Us in September 2015 that things were "very tense" between Brady and Bündchen following Deflate-gate, an NFL controversy involving allegations that Brady ordered the deflation of footballs in the AFC Championship Game during the 2014-2015 NFL playoffs. Brady commented on the divorce rumors later that month. “We’re in a great place," he told a Boston radio station at the time. "I’ll just say that." He added, “I’ve been very blessed to have an incredible relationship with my life partner, and I don’t think anything will ever get in the way of that.”


"I’m blessed to find this life partner that we all kind of seek at different times in our life,” the former New England Patriots quarterback told Access Hollywood in May 2016. “We found each other at the right time. We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs together, and in so many ways, that’s kind of built our relationship so strong.” Bündchen gave her partner a necklace to protect him on the field. “She’d be really happy that I’m wearing it because she doesn’t like anyone hitting me,” Brady told the press in January 2017. “She always says, ‘Throw the ball really fast, really fast.’ So that’s what I try to do.” The Lovebirds looked more in love than ever at the 2018 Met Gala.


Brady is often seen gushing over his wife. Bündchen jumped for joy in January 2019 after the Patriots defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game and earned Brady’s ninth trip to the Super Bowl. Brady said during his post-game interview said, "I first want to say hi to my wife, I love you so much,” Bündchen shared the clip on her Instagram Story and replied, “Love you, baby.” Brady and Bündchen celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary with sweet Instagram tributes on February 26, 2019. The six-time Super Bowl champion wife shared a sweet photo of herself and her decade-long husband embracing in November and revealed, “My friends always ask me as a Brazilian how do I survive the New England cold. I have a really cozy @tombrady blanket. ❤️” 


3.  My forever Valentine.Te amo! 2020 - 2021

The couple each shared a heartfelt photo for Valentine’s Day in 2020. On it, Bündchen captioned hers, “My forever Valentine.Te amo! Wishing you all a happy Valentine’s Day ❤️❤️❤️.” The two continued to gush about each other in the comments. 


The NFL player wrote, “Te amo muito 😍. But you already know that” on his wife’s photo. The supermodel added, “What a cutie I have ❤️😍” in response to her husband’s post. 


Brady admitted in April 2020 that Bündchen had accused him of not “doing [his] part” a couple of years prior, saying he had to “check” himself when she became unsatisfied in their marriage. “She felt like I would play football all season and she would take care of the house, and then all the sudden when the season would end, that I’d be like, ‘Great, let me get into all my other business activities. Let me get into my football training,'” he explained to Howard Stern. “And she’s sitting there going, ‘Well, when are you going to do things for the house? When are you going to take the kids to school and do that?’” The couple made most of their relationship amid the coronavirus pandemic. The model gushed over the first photos of Brady in his Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniform. She commented via Instagram, “What a cutie!!!” The couple completed 11 years of their wedding anniversary on February 26, 2020.


The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback revealed in September 2020 that having sex with his wife is not a part of his gameday ritual. “Oh man, that’s probably off the table. I wouldn’t say it’s probably never happened, but I don’t think that would be the moment,” he said on the Armchair Expert podcast at the time. “That wouldn’t be my pre-game warm-up.” After Brady won his seventh Super Bowl during his first year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bündchen referred to Brady as her “forever lovvvey” while sharing an adorable pic of her kissing his cheek on Valentine’s Day. The couple completed 12 years of their wedding anniversary. 

4. Trouble in Paradise - 2022

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback revealed that he was taking Bündchen into account when thinking about stepping back from football. “My wife is my biggest supporter. It pains her to see me get hit out there,” Brady said on an episode of his Let’s Go! podcast. “She deserves what she needs from me as a husband and my kids deserve what they need from me as a dad.” Adding that he wanted to spend as much time with the supermodel and their children as possible, Brady addressed his next big career move. "I’m gonna spend some time with them and give them what they need, ’cause they’ve really been giving me what I need the last six months to do what I love to do,” he said, referring to the 2021-2022 NFL season. “I said this a few years ago, it’s what relationships are all about. It’s not always what I want. It’s what we want as a family. And I’m gonna spend a lot of time with them and figure out in the future what’s next.


Brady paid tribute to his Bündchen while announcing his retirement from the NFL after 22 seasons, via Instagram, “To my wife, Gisele, and my children, Jack, Benny and Vivi. You are my inspiration. Our family is my greatest achievement.” “I always came off the field and home to the most loving and supportive wife who has done EVERYTHING for our family to allow me to focus on my career. Her selflessness allowed me to reach new heights professionally, and I am beyond words for what you mean to me and our family. Te amo amor da minha vida.”The mother of two replied to her husband’s post, writing, “What an incredible ride this has been! You know that we are always here to support you my love. Looking forward to what the future holds. Te amo.”


The couple also celebrated their 13 years of wedding anniversary. But Six weeks after Brady’s retirement announcement, the athlete revealed his NFL return via Instagram. Bündchen commented on the social media upload: “Here we go again! Let’s go lovvvey! Let’s go Bucs!” In August 2022, rumors swirled that Brady was taking an 11-day leave of absence from the Buccaneers for a stint on “The Masked Singer.” The University of Michigan grad, however, told the press that his break was for “personal” reasons.


That same month, Bündchen wished her husband a happy birthday calling him “the most focused, disciplined and fashionable person” she knows. “You are so loved and we are always here cheering for you and wishing you all the most wonderful things in life!” Page Six reported on September, Bündchen has left their home for Costa Rica, “Tom and Gisele are in a fight right now,” adding that this has happened before with the couple, but they have always reunited in the past. A second insider added, “They have a fiery relationship. Gisele is a bit hot-headed she has that Brazilian heat!”
