Who is Tamarius Davis? Georgia man high on mushrooms kills man, dances over his body
MIAMI, FLORIDA: A Georgia native has been arrested in Miami Beach, Florida after he fatally shot a young dad and proceeded to dance over his dead body. Tamarius Blair Davis, 22, has been charged with the murder of 21-year-old Dustin Wakefield, a Colorado resident who was holidaying at Miami Beach with his wife and one-year-old son. More shockingly, a video clip procured by WSVN-TV shows Davis dancing on top of Wakefield's body in a manner of celebration. He was nabbed by police officials soon after.
Wakefield hailed from Castle Rock, Colorado and was in Miami Beach on a vacation. He was dining with his family at the La Cervecaria restaurant around 6:30 pm on August 24, when the incident took place. His wife and infant son witnessed his random and brutal murder in front of their eyes. "This guy came in with a gun, waving it, saying it’s time to die. He pointed the gun at his son and Dustin said, "He’s only a boy." Dustin stood up between the gunman and the baby and he shot him. He shot him multiple times on the ground," Wakefield's uncle Mike shared with Miami Herald.

Who is Tamarius Blair Davis?
The 22-year-old gunman hailing from Norcross, Georgia had traveled to Miami Beach with some friends. According to his father, Davis worked with the UPS and had never had trouble with the law. He does not have any past arrest record and never showed signs of mental health issues. "This is an unlikely thing. We are trying to find out what happened. You can imagine we were shocked," his father Tommy Davis shared with The Associated Press.
Meanwhile, Davis has revealed to the police that he was "high on mushrooms" at the time of the shooting and felt "empowered" from the effect of the psychotropic drug. According to the police, he opened fire at diners at the restaurant before encountering Wakefield randomly. He then celebrated the murder by dancing on the victim's body. He fled the scene soon afterward but was nabbed by the cops in an adjacent alley.
A video clip of the arrest shows Davis lying on his back and smiling as the cops rush to approach him with their guns pointed. He later screamed "I give, I give, I give" as the officers handcuffed him. He is now facing the charges of second-degree murder, as well as attempted murder for allegedly chasing and shooting at another man moments before targetting Wakefield.
In the meantime, the victim Wakefield was rushed to the Jackson Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He reportedly worked in construction and was loved by all in his family. At present, his family has set up a GoFundMe page to support his widowed wife and young son.
