With the charming Ty Pennington as the host, each challenge will have a different judge selecting the winners. And who better to judge star contestants than TV show hosts themselves? Make way Tamara Day, the host of 'Bargain Mansions' who will be judging the teams' basement renovations.
Who is Tamara Day?
Known for her signature 'laid back luxe' style which is the perfect combination of aesthetically pleasing yet functional, Day is a TV personality, the CEO and founder of Growing Days Home and Growing Days Design, her brand and design firm respectively and a mother of four. Her show, 'Bargain Mansions', sees her flipping homes in the Kansas metro area. Day focuses on giving these homes a much-needed update while retaining their old charm and personality.
In an interview with HGTV, she gave fans insight into her process. "When I walk into a house, I always go with the mindset of: "What can I save?" I try to save anything I can, even if it is something as simple as registers or mail letter slots. It’s the little details like that that make all the difference. I try and use every inch I can and create intentional spaces with what is already available. I try and save the trim work, windows and any of the architectural details that make it unique," She said.
Her family has always had a knack for renovation
Day's show ultimately evolved from her business she started with her husband, Bill Day, who incidentally has had experience building houses. As reported by Distractify, Bill Day works in finance and is the co-owner and partner at Integrated Wealth Advisory Service Inc. His company specializes in wealth management creation. When Day went on to host 'Bargain Mansions', she had another very important man in her life join her on the show, her father Ward Schraeder. Schraeder, who has always been a handyman of sorts taught Day all the basics.
On his website, he mentioned how Day was always destined to get into this line of work, seeing that when she was once put in time-out as a child, she began filing holes in the staircase with wood putty. Looks like being a fixer-upper runs in the family.
Tamara Day net worth
Between her brand, design firm and TV show, Day is definitely making a pretty good paycheque. As reported by Much Feed, her estimated net worth is said to be somewhere around $3 million.
