'Rock The Block' Season 2: Release date, cast, plot and all you need to know about HGTV's ultimate home makeover face-off

If you're looking for a good home makeover show, no network does it quite like HGTV. From restoring old homes, flipping total fixer-uppers to designing stunning spaces or building places from scratch, the network has something for everyone. With each show's hosts bringing in their own charm and personality, it's hard not to have favorites and preferences when it comes to getting your homemaker fix.

So, what if you could have all your favorite home makeover hosts in one place? Sounds like it would make for a pretty great show! Now, add in the classic HGTV twist to it all and gear up for a whole new season of 'Rock The Block', where some of the networks' biggest names in home renovation take on the ultimate challenge — each other!

Release date

Season 2 of 'Rock The Block' premieres on Monday, March 8, at 9 pm ET/PT on HGTV. It will also be available for streaming on Discovery+.

Plot

Building homes is no easy feat;  it's a job best left to the experts. But what do the experts do when they're looking for a challenge themselves? Join the cast of Season 2 of 'Rock The Block'!

While Season 1 saw an all-female cast of designers compete against each other, Season 2 features eight of HGTV's biggest names in home renovation and design, as they pair up in teams of two to completely transform identical three-story suburban properties in just one month. With a budget of $225,000 and just a month to get it all done, these duos have a lot on the line, including major bragging rights and a chance to have a street named after them! 

Cast

Ty Pennington 

For a design show featuring some of HGTV's most iconic names in the home makeover scene, it goes without saying that the Season 2 host would have to pack just as much star power. And who better to take on that role than the expert craftsman and designer Ty Pennington. The Emmy Award-winning host has starred in a wide range of reality shows, such as Trading Spaces', 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, 'On the Menu' and 'American Diner Revival' among others. He has also authored two books, 'Good Design Can Change Your Life' and ' Ty’s Tricks', which is a New York Times Bestseller. 



 

Contestants 

Alison Victoria 

Known for her eclectic style, interior designer Alison Victoria happens to be the host of 'Windy City Rehab', where she 'combines upscale design with a passion for her hometown as she buys and restores old homes in Chicago'.


Mike Holmes 

Contractor and host Mike Holmes is a household name, thanks to his show, 'Holmes on Homes'. On his show, Holmes 'believes in doing a job right the first time and is making it his mission to expose poor, substandard workmanship in the building industry with his internationally successful show Holmes on Homes. In each episode, Mike rescues homeowners from repair and renovation disasters.

Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent

Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent are from 'Nate and Jeremiah: Save My House'.



 

Hosts of 'Nate and Jeremiah: Save My House', these home designers are also partners. As per the HGTV summary of their show, 'Balancing their roles as design experts and dads, Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent rescue clients from renovation nightmares and turn money pits into masterpieces.'

David Bromstad

The original winner of 'HGTV Design Star', David Bromstad is a designer, real estate advisor and host of 'My Lottery Dream Home'. As per the HGTV summary of his show, 'David Bromstad takes recent lottery winners on over-the-top house hunts for their new dream homes'.


Tiffany Brooks

The 2013 winner of 'HGTV Design Star', Tiffany Brooks is a familiar name in the HGTV network. All set to host her very own show, '$50K Three Ways stars Tiffany as she presents homeowners with three wildly different design plans for three completely different spaces within their homes.'


David Bromstad from 'My Lottery Dream Home' teams up with Tiffany Brooks from the upcoming series '50K Three Ways'.

Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt

Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt are from '100 Day Dream Home'.



 

Hosts of '100 Day Dream Home', Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt are a husband-and-wife team from Tampa, Florida. As per the HGTV summary of their show, 'She's the realtor, he's the developer and together they help clients both design and build the perfect house from the ground up in 100 days or less.'

As shared on HGTV's Instagram page, Season 2 looks bigger than ever, as we see four design and construction duos ready to battle it out and come out on top. With Ty Pennington as the host, the race is on for these duos to max out stunning properties, all within a time limit and under a budget.
