Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just started their own Instagram account, SussexRoyal
Just days after the British royal family announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will have a separate household and offices from Prince William and Kate Middleton, the couple has opened their own Instagram account with the handle @sussexroyal.
The announcement regarding the new account was made via the Kensington Palace account.
"Welcome to Instagram, @SussexRoyal!" the Kensington Palace account wrote. "Follow @SussexRoyal for more on the work of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Follow @KensingtonRoyal for more on the work of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge."
Just two weeks earlier, the Palace had announced the Sussexes were getting their own royal household separate from William and Kate's. What it essentially means is that they would have their own office where their staff is based in British monarchy terms.
The transition had reportedly been in the works for a long time as the Queen had long approved Harry and Meghan getting their own household after their marriage last year, the Palace announced.
That said, the new household is expected to "ensure that permanent support arrangements for the Duke and Duchess's work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage."
While Meghan and Harry's official residence will be Frogmore Cottage, Windsor, their staff will be based at Buckingham Palace.
As of now, the world-famous duo has one post on their Instagram. It is a photo of their joint monogram, a gallery of photos of them at work and written alongside is a personal message from the couple to their fans.
“Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal,” the Sussex royals wrote.
