Armando Manuel Caballero: Person of Interest in Miya Marcano missing case found dead
Orange County deputies are searching for a missing 19-year-old teen, Miya Marcano after they found her apartment in disorder, including a bloodstained pillow. Marcano, a college student, was last seen around 5 pm on Friday, September 24, near the University of Central Florida in Orlando, at the Arden Villas apartments on Arden Villas Boulevard. She is a sophomore at the nearby Valencia Community College and worked in the complex’s onsite leasing office.
In a press conference on Monday, September 27, police announced that a 'person of interest' in Marcano's disappearance, 27-year-old Armando Manuel Caballero, was found dead from an apparent suicide. Caballero was reported to be a maintenance man at Marcano's apartment complex since June. According to Orange County Sheriff John Mina, Caballero expressed a romantic interest in Marcano which she repeatedly denied. Mina further noted on Monday, September 27, that a maintenance-issued master key fob, which Caballero was known to have, was used to enter Marcano's apartment 30 minutes before the end of her shift. An arrest warrant was issued for Caballero for burglary related to him entering Marcano's apartment without permission, Mina added. Marcano's case holds the attention of the Internet as the news comes after another missing woman was found dead. Gabby Petito, a 22-year-old vlogger went missing after going on a cross country trip with her boyfriend Brian Laundrie. After Petito's body was found, Laundrie, who was named a 'person of interest' in the case, went missing, sparking a manhunt for him. He is still to be found.

The day she went missing, Marcano was scheduled to catch a flight from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale to visit her family but she never boarded the plane. No one has heard from her ever since. Her father said he spoke to his daughter on Friday, September 24 afternoon but never heard from her once she finished work. Deputies started looking for Marcano on Sunday, September 26, in the wooded area behind her apartment building. Marcano is 4′9 and about 130 pounds. An investigation into Marcano's disappearance continues.
Caballero was driving a silver Ford Fusion with Florida tag PZUJ17. The sheriff asked for any information from anyone who may have seen Caballero or his car.
"We've already recovered that vehicle but we want to know any circumstances where someone may have seen him in that vehicle," Mina said. "I want to reiterate, Miya is still missing. Her disappearance is suspicious and our detectives and family members obviously suspect foul play," Sheriff Mina said.
Marcano's friends and family members held a prayer vigil on Sept 26 urging the community to come forward and help them find her. The vigil was held at the Arden Villas Apartments, where Marcano was last seen before she went missing. Community members gathered together while Marcano's family urged them to do their bit to help find their daughter.
