'Survivor: Edge of Extinction' recap: After episode 1, we are left with the same sentiment as Reem — 'Holy Crap! What is this?!'
The first episode of season 38 of 'Survivor' proved to be every bit as exciting as Jeff Probst promised to be in the promos for 'Edge of Extinction', and in the end, we were left with the exact sentiments that Reem was left with – "Holy Crap! What is this?!"

The episode started off with a surprise for the castaways right off the bat — four returning players will be competing for $1 million this time around — but we knew this already. This twist already put the alliances and games into motion, with newbies contemplating on whether their game would be better if they kept the veterans around for a couple more episodes so that they could help them with groundwork — making shades, keeping the fire lit, etc. — or if they should get rid of the seasoned players the first chance they get.
