'Supernatural' Series Finale: Who is Dean's new companion? Irked fans say 'they really replaced Cas with a dog'

Never has a dog been able to dig up sentiments this harsh in the history of the universe, the way this furry little thing on the 'Supernatural' series finale did. Remember the dog from the previous and penultimate episode of the entire series? Turns out Dean and Sam Winchester adopted the ball of fur after all the action and are now extremely domesticated with it, showering an abundance of morning cuddles and whatnot. But fans are not at all pleased with the prospect. Why? Simply because they think the show's homophobia has never been more amplified. Fans believe they practically tried to replace Castiel with a dog.
On a decent day, a dog is probably the best way to cheer up the spirits, but not with fans of 'Supernatural' on an already emotionally turbulent night as the 15-year-old show comes to a wrap. Coping in the aftermath of the loss of both Jack and Cas from their lives, Dean and Sam seemed to be in better spirits after having defeated both Chuck and Billie. And while a little emotional support from an animal is no harm done, fans refuse to believe that "they’d literally rather havea dog in Dean’s bed than a boyfrien. I know it’s not over til it’s over, but the retro retcon has me really cranky," as one wrote on Twitter.

A third fan remarked: "they really replaced cas with a dog." Soon followed this complaint that stated: "No eileen, no cas...but miracle I’m sorry i love the dog but it’s a no from me. No character’s evolution. Nothing." The reason behind this widespread upset is pretty clear. "You expect me to believe dean rlly got a dog before he kissed cas?? this show is really something," clarified a fan. For others, there was solace to be found in the tiniest of details, as a fan mock0lamented: "BUT WHY DOES THE DOG HAVE BROWN FUR LIKE CAS' TRENCHCOAT."
'Supernatural' series finale aired on Thursday, November 19, at 9 pm only on The CW.
