'Supernatural' Season 15 Episode 3 saw Rowena sacrifice herself for the boys and all of humanity, and we cannot stop bawling
We guessed Rowena (Ruth Connell) would be killed off for the last time on 'Supernatural' but we did not anticipate how much it would hurt. No matter how indifferent you were towards Rowena, if you didn't shed a tear at her sacrifice, you are worse than a crossroads demon. Much like her son Crowley, (Mark Sheppard) she also sacrificed herself for the boys and the rest of the world, and left with a killer adieu: "Goodbye, boys!" which is reminiscent of Crowley's own "Bye boys," just ahead of his own death.
Season 15 Episode 3 of The CW series saw Sam (Jared Padalecki) stabbing Rowena to death, with tears streaming down his eyes after she convinced him that it was the only way to save all of humanity from 'The Rupture'.It was a full-circle moment for the centuries-old witch who we know only cared about garnering power and keeping herself alive. It was heartbreaking to see her do this for the boys she has come to be so fond of.
Fans of the show seem to share the same sentiments as us, posting tearful goodbyes for the brave and eventually selfless Rowena. While one fan noted, "She had the loveliest music for her send off. Rowena earned being that beautiful in her last moments. When the boys figure all of this out, I hope they find a way to bring her up out of that place," another confessed, "I’m so upset. She one of my favorite I cried like a baby. And if there going to do this to all the Characters I might choose not to finish watching it".
Rowena's loss is unforgettable on the show, and she is irreplaceable, but the Winchesters' fight against God (Rob Benedict) is far from over. We are excited to watch the rest of their story when the show returns with Season 15 Episode 4 on Thursday, October 31.
