Spoilers for Season 15 Episode 16 'Drag Me Away (From You)'

You know what they say about series finales, if you don't' want to kill off the main character, his baby brother is always a good place to hit. Fifteen and half seasons of demon hunting later, as Dean and Sam Winchester arrive at the brink of their journey, some fates are written in stone and impossible to turn. Others keep popping up here and there, in signs and premonitions, much like tonight's Episode 16 where Dean ended up seeing young Sam's dead body as part of their hunted monster's tricks. That's stems the worry — is Sam going to die?

The episode saw Sam and Dean travel to a motel to investigate a childhood friend's death. The monster has a ring their now deceased friend used to wear, and hunting down his demon along with the victim's sister is what the Winchester brothers spend most of this episode doing. But before Dean can destroy the ring, its demonic capabilities keep spurring out hallucinations for them, and one of them that Dean sees happens to be the body of a young Sam. It's terrifying and heartbreaking at the same time, knowing Sam has already died once and Dean had sold his soul to get Sam back. But looks like not all danger is out of the way.

At the end of the episode, while returning from their hunting trip, Dean finally tells Sam the truth about Jack's fate. Sam, pissed off about Castiel leaving impromptu, is informed by Dean about the reality of their situation — that Jack will die if he kills chuck and Amara. Furious over this, and over being kept in the dark for so long, Sam very impassionately urges they are not going to let Jack die. And much like Jack had assured Castiel, Dean tells Sam he has no choice in the matter. But knowing how impulsive Sam can be there's a high chance he is going to try and save Jack anyway — thus bringing something far more dangerous to his own self.

Whether Dean's hallucination was a premonition or not is still unclear, but it was sure to cause some heartbreak among the fandom. Taking it to Twitter, a fan shared "YOU COULD LITERALLY SEE HIS HEART BREAK AS SOON AS HE SAW SAM’S BODY I CAN’T LIVE LIKE THIS."

Another pointed out: "Okay but the way Dean had to take a few steps back in complete shock and heartbreak when he saw Sam’s dead body under the blanket."

Others worried "Dean seeing young! sam's dead body must've been so traumatizing and i bet they're never gonna talk about it again."

For several others the show was at fault for putting the brothers through the most. "Dean really had to see baby sam's dead body, @ spn stop traumatizing your characters," said a fan.

'Supernatural' airs on Thursdays at 8 pm only on The CW.
