'Supergirl' Season 5: Will Staz Nair's William Dey be one of the characters to die by the end of the season?

Or the show might just take 'The Flash' route and bring him in as an essential part of team Supergirl. Maybe give him a concrete role at the DEO should he survive the decisive battle that's brewing

Staz Nair's William Dey was one of the latest entrants to Season 5 of 'Supergirl'. He was introduced as one of the former reporters from The Times. Initially, shown to be at odds with Kara (Melissa Benoist), the part-snappy, part-snarky journalist eventually warms up to the team.

One of the key storylines William is a part of is Leviathan and their operation with Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer). It was revealed in 'Alex in Wonderland' that William was investigating Lex for placing a lot of satellites into space. William approaches Kelly Olsen (Azie Tesfai) for help who also has her doubts about the diabolical villain.

In the final minutes of the episode, William receives a text from his source at the NSA informing him that of his list of the 402 VR users, 337 of them do not have any connection to Lex, however, the remaining 65 are using an IP address in National City. He tracks down the address when Margot puts out a cloaking mechanism that hides the entire operation. William then stumbles upon a discarded patient ID.

Leading to the all-important question: Just how much of danger is William in?

It shouldn't come as a surprise if he's one of the casualties by the end of the season. With the current installment already giving him two major storylines— one that saw his best friend, Russell Rogers, dying under mysterious circumstances after turning down a deal from Lex, and now with the VR tech. While he was hinted as Kara's potential love interest, much to fans chagrin, it looks like it was a minor arc. At this stage, this theory of William dying comes in as pure speculation.

Or the show might just take 'The Flash' route and bring him in as an essential part of team Supergirl. Maybe give him a concrete role at the DEO should he survive the decisive battle that's brewing. With the season set to resume on May 3, it will be a bit of a wait to find out how it all ends for the character.

What do you think will happen to William by the end of Season 5?

'Supergirl' Season 5 returns on May 3 at 8 pm ET on The CW.
