Contains spoilers for 'Sunny'
KYOTO, JAPAN: 'Sunny', on Apple TV+, opened with a gripping mystery around the sudden disappearance of Suzie Sakamoto's (Rashida Jones) husband and son after a plane crash.
While she is struggling to come to terms with the loss, Yuki Tanaka (Jun Kunimura) gifts her a domestic robot.
Suzie, who always believed her husband Masa worked on refrigerators at Imatech, an electronics company, is shocked to discover he had been lying to her. Masa was actually a roboticist who designed Sunny, an advanced robot that Yuki now gives to Suzie.
Now, she must handle not only a robot but also the mystery of what her husband was hiding.
Suzie Sakamoto discovers shocking truth about domestic robots in Apple TV+'s 'Sunny'
At a bar, Suzie indulges in a casual conversation with a new bartender named Mixxy (annie the clumsy) and discovers that the coding of robots could be manipulated.
Mixxy says that after her breakup, she uses her home robot for physical intimacy purposes. She further tells her about a guide that is used to hack the code of robots to make them do anything.
Unlike Suzie, Mixxy doesn't hate robots but mentions that she doesn't trust them as they are capable of anything.
Suzie then also learns about a previous case where a politician was allegedly killed by his home robot.
Suzie Sakamoto could be in trouble in 'Sunny'
Suzie could find herself in serious trouble, both from dangers she anticipates and those she doesn’t.
She has seen blood in Masa's office where Sunny was designed and built. After meeting with Mixxy, she fears that Sunny too could be dangerous.
Meanwhile, there's a suspicious man who has been tracking Suzie. His motives are yet to be discovered. However, it is clear that Masa and Zen's disappearance is not related to the airplane crash.
Instead, there is a bigger foul play, probably involving Imatech and the person who has been keeping an eye on her.
