'Suits' Season 9 Episode 9: How will Harvey cope with his mother's death as the firm slowly collapses around him?

Will Harvey crack under pressure, or will he be able to do what it takes to protect his own?

To say that Season 9 of 'Suits' has not been kind to Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) would be an understatement. From watching helplessly as a dear friend got disbarred to protect him, to watching another close friend get fired because he could not keep his anger in check, he is wallowing in guilt. To add to his misery, he learned in Episode 9 of the ongoing season that his mother has suddenly died.

Harvey hated his mother from when he was a teenager when he walked in on her cheating on his father, until a couple of years ago, when he was forced to confront the fact that human beings make mistakes. Their relationship had just recently gotten on track, with him apologizing to his mother recently for cutting her out of his life for so long. To learn of her death so abruptly will take a toll on him, especially with everything that is going on around him.

However, we are yet to find out how he takes the news because Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty) told him about his mother's heart attack, a few moments before the episode 'Prisoner's Dilemma' ended, and he was still in shock when the credits started rolling. From the trailer for the upcoming 'Thunder Away' it is evident he is being a trooper and helping his friends take down Faye Richardson (Denise Crosby), the woman he holds responsible for everything going wrong at Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams.

We know that he is on board with Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams) and Samantha Wheeler (Katherine Heigl) going after Faye for wrongful termination of Samantha. However, what he doesn't see coming is Faye's demand that he and Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) represent her in the case. While it contradicts his personal interest, he will have to make his client's interests a priority.

Will Harvey crack under pressure, or will he be able to do what it takes to protect his own? We will have to wait till Season 9 Episode 9 'Thunder Away,' which also happens to be the penultimate episode of the series, premieres on NBC on Wednesday, September 18.
