'Suits' Season 9 Episode 5: Mike is back, and so is the playful banter that made us fall in love with the legal drama

From the teaser for episode 5 of the final season, it is clear that a family member is returning for a final hurrah, namely, Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams).

‘Suits’ Season 9 Episode 4, titled ‘Cairo’ reminded the viewers what made us fall in love with [currently] Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams all those years ago – the sense of family. Between the playful banter, all senior partners of the firm had a way of letting each other know that they were a family. Even when the entire world tried to get them to turn against each other, they would stand up for each other.

However, that was slowly starting to change with Faye Richardson's (Denise Crosby) rules. Even as she tried to install her rules in every aspect of the firm’s foundation, the partners forgot that they were a unit and were trying to fight their individual battles.

When it came to protecting Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty), though, they remember what their firm was all about – family. We got to see them win their first battle against Faye in ‘Cairo,’ as one unit. From the teaser for episode 5 of the final season, it is clear that more family members are returning for a final hurrah, namely Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams).

We have missed Mike and Rachel (Meghan Markle) since their departure at the end of season 7, and since it has been teased that he will return to the show before the series finale, fans have been waiting impatiently for the said return. He is making an appearance in the upcoming ‘If the Shoe Fits', and the timing could not be better.

Despite their big win last week, Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams needs to prove consistently that they can work within the legal limits. It remains to be seen if Faye called him in, or Samantha Wheeler (Katherine Heigl).

From the trailer for the episode, it is clear that his return is quickly working wonders for the morale at the firm – mostly for Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). We see that the Sundance Kid and Butch Cassidy are happy to be reunited, as are we, to see them reunited. And, it doesn’t hurt that so are they competitiveness with each other and their banter.

Don’t forget to watch Mike’s return on ‘Suits’ when the USA Network show airs on August 14.
