'Suits': From Louis Litt to Trevor Evans, 6 supporting characters that fans couldn't stand for all the right reasons in USA Network's legal drama
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Five years after its conclusion, USA Network's legal drama 'Suits' continues to gain popularity with its availability on Netflix. Created by Aaron Korsh, 'Suits', comprising nine seasons, introduces us to the exciting legal world of Harvey Specter (played by Gabriel Macht) and his equally smart associate Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams).
The series is supported by dozens of other characters who add depth to the narrative in their own capacity. However, some of these supporting characters turned out to be quite unlikeable for their complex personalities and tricky actions.
1. Louis Litt
Played by Rick Hoffman, Louis Litt is the character you instantly hate. Though he is one of the main characters in the series, his insecurities and jealousy can be really irritating at times.
He picks up rivalry with Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and often ends up creating unnecessary conflicts. He almost emerges as a villain in the show until his vulnerable and good side comes to light.
As his character develops, one eventually begins to like him for his loyalty to the firm and his genuine care for his colleagues.
But watching his erratic behavior in the first few seasons can be a real pain.
2. Samantha Wheeler
Katherine Heigl as Samantha Wheeler gains the spotlight in the last few seasons of 'Suits' to fill the void of two main female protagonists - Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) and Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle).
Samantha is undoubtedly a strong character who excels at her job but she can be pretty ruthless too. She consistently goes against the beloved characters of the show, which makes enough reason for viewers to dislike her despite all the good things that she brings to the table.
3. Daniel Hardman
Daniel Hardman (David Costabile), the co-founder of Pearson Hardman, is a character that gains instant dislike. After it is discovered that he is embezzling money, Jessica forces him to leave the firm.
He is unfaithful to his wife and has been defrauding his own partners. He creates havoc when Jessica tries to merge with another law firm. His manipulative behavior and pursuit of power make him an unlikeable character.
4. Trevor Evans
Trevor Evans (played by Tom Lipinski) is Mike Ross' (Patrick J. Adams) childhood friend, who, instead of helping our protagonist, continues to make his life miserable. He is the one who got Mike kicked out of Harvard. This is why Mike's life went haywire and he resorted to fraudulent practices.
His impact doesn't end here. He returns to create havoc in Mike's life yet again by telling his secret to Jessica.
While Mike has always been a good friend to him, mostly because he feels indebted to his family, Trevor has only caused troubles in Mike's life.
5. Sheila Sazs
Sheila Sazs (Rachael Harris) gained the hatred of the fans when she tipped off the US Attorney's office about Mike's lies.
She is a complex character who does the right thing in her own space. Yet her actions somehow project her as an antagonist. Moreover, her romantic relationship with another hated character, Louis Litt, is another reason why fans don't resonate with her a lot.
6. Faye Richardson
Denise Crosby is introduced as Faye Richardson, who is appointed to oversee the firm following a series of scandals. If you look closely, she is a woman who follows ethics and believes in transparency.
She is merely doing her job when she tries to enforce accountability and ethical practices in the firm. However, her authoritative style of leadership isn't quite liked by the employees, and eventually by the viewers.
However, the fact that viewers hate these characters only means that these actors have played their part with perfection. Had these characters not been so annoying, we wouldn't have felt deeply for our protagonists.
