NYC A-train slasher stabs 2 to death and wounds 2 more in subway, police launch massive manhunt
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A knife-wielding killer brutally murdered two homeless people and wounded two more as he carved a gory path in a 14-hour subway stabbing spree on the A-train line from Manhattan to Queens, police stated on Saturday, February 13, after announcing a massive manhunt for the suspect.
The first victim, a seemingly homeless man, was discovered around 11.29 pm on Friday, February 5, at Mott Avenue and Beach 22nd Street Station in Queens, with multiple stab wounds in the neck and torso, according to cops, who said the unidentified man was declared dead at the scene. After around two hours, a woman with multiple stab wounds was found at the A-train station at West 207 Street and Broadway in Inwood, cops said. The 44-year-old female victim was immediately taken to New York Presbyterian-Allen Hospital, where she was declared dead.

A 67-year-old man waiting at the A-train stop at Fort Washington Avenue and West 181st Street stop was approached by a crazed attacker on the same day the body was discovered, cops said. “I’m going to kill you!” the attacker yelled as he stabbed the victim, who was using a walker, in the knee and hip, police said. The victim was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center for treatment. That attack was similar to the February 6 assault on a Brooklyn straphanger, who was stabbed by a knife-wielding man who told him: “You’re going to die today.”
Officials said they believe the attacker to be possibly a Hispanic male standing at a height of 5ft tall and wearing a face mask. "Three of these incidents appear to be connected and the Detective Bureau is looking into the possibility that one individual could have committed all four crimes. We will work tirelessly to bring the individual or individuals to justice," Transit Chief Kathleen O’Reilly told reporters. Officials released the following chronology at a 2 pm press conference on February 13 at NYPD headquarters in lower Manhattan:
