Who is Fulton Gordon? NYC 'cat killer' who watched his 2 pit bulls maul friendly feline Tuxedo to death arrested
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK CITY: A Brooklyn man has been arrested for knocking a cat, Tuxedo, out of a tree so his two pet dogs could maul it to death, the NYPD said Monday, February 8. Fulton Gordon, 28, was arrested on Monday around 3.30 pm inside NYCHA’s Breukelen House and was charged with torturing, injuring or not feeding an animal, a misdemeanor crime, the NYPD said. Gordon was assigned a desk appearance ticket and was told to have an arraignment at a later date.
On January 13, Gordon went out for a walk with his wife with two dogs. The series of events that lead him to kill Tuxedo is not known but in the footage released, he was seen using a stick to hurt the cat, a chunky black and white feline. He forced Tuxedo out of a tree and then sat idly as two pit bulls mauled the cat to death, according to a witness, police and Latonya Walker, the cat’s caretaker.

According to NY Post, Tuxedo was part of a managed feral community and was called the “mayor” of the complex for his friendly nature. He used to hang out with residents as they worked on their cars in the parking lot and even had a best friend and a girlfriend, Walker said. His death sparked global outrage and over 20,000 people from over 80 countries signed the petition, Animal Victory, demanding the NYPD to take swift action against the person responsible.
“I’m so relieved, maybe my appetite will come back,” Walker told The Post when she learned of the arrest. “I wish we’d learn to love and respect each other, [there’s] enough young Black men in jail. Respect goes a long way. And there are people from the hood that love animals, not abusing them," Walker told NY Post by phone.
According to Animal Victory, "A couple encouraged their two pit bulls to attack Tuxedo. The dogs ripped the friendly cat apart, causing fatal injuries." The organization formerly offered a reward amount saying "the police are aware of what happened, but nobody has been arrested. Animal Victory is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people involved in Tuxedo's death. These people must be identified and charged for their abhorrent behavior."
Former Police Commissioner Bill Bratton tweeted, "Horrible animal abuse cases are exactly why we created the NYPD Animal Cruelty Investigation Squad in 2014 when I was Commissioner. Kudos to the Detectives and all who were involved in #Tuxedo’s case. Great to know an arrest was made today!" NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison said, "Great investigative work done by the Animal Cruelty Squad, PSA1’s Neighborhood Coordination Officer’s for apprehending Fulton Gordon in regard to the gruesome death of Tuxedo."
