One of the major theories doing the rounds is if Joe Keery's fan-favorite character Steve Harrington dies in 'Stranger Things' Season 4 Volume 2. Fueling that theory is the latest update that saw the actor filming for his new low-budget action movie, 'Marmalade' in Jordan, Minnesota. As per a Fox report, the movie was originally slated to be shot in Louisiana but was later changed after one of the producers wanted to give the Land of 10,000 lakes a try.

Details about Keery's new movie are pretty scarce at the moment, but there have been reports doing the rounds that the Netflix film is a classic whodunit. The production ensured that crowds flocked from Montgomery and Mankato to catch a glimpse of the 'Stranger Things' star when they shot at Henderson last week. The report added that 'Marmalade' was one of the six projects that were approved ever since the legislature passed an incentive that gives 25% tax credit to TV and film production that spend a million dollars in the state.

'Stranger Things 3': Fan favorite Joe Keery is easy to love, hard to hate as Steve Harrington

"It's not a big tax credit, it's a small tax credit, but it's a start. But look what's coming," said Marmalade location manager Anne Healy to the news outlet. "Small, good-looking buildings, not too big. So you could drive through and have the buildings as a beautiful backdrop for the characters."

At the moment, much of the debate is whether Joe Keery's character, Steve makes it past Season 4. To quickly recap, the latest season saw the Hawkins heroes fight Vecna, a wizard who claims victims by preying on their traumatic pasts. The eighth episode sees Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) captured by Vecna as she and Steve attempt to make it back to Hawkins after being trapped in the Upside Down. Speculations are rife that Steve may sacrifice himself in the process to save his former love and friend. With Eddie Munson, one of the latest entrants to the show all but sure that she was still in love with him, Steve could perhaps give her the way forward by being Vecna's next victim.
