After eager anticipation from 'Star Wars' fans, the final season of 'The Clone Wars' is here. In the lead up to the infamous Order 66 in 'Revenge of the Sith,' we're meeting the infamous Clone Force 99.

In a preview released by the official 'Star Wars' site, generals in the Clone Army are seen discussing a special Clone Force. They are known, not for their 100% mission success rate, but by the untraditional methodology through with they meet their objectives.

This force is the "bad batch" — an experimental set of clones who were given certain mutations in their cloning process.

While the "bad batch" clones mostly keep their armor on, they each have distinctive markings, and variations in their armor, doubtless related to their mutations. It's unspecified as to what kind of mission requires their unique brand of service.

Clone Force 99 was first introduced in an unfinished version of the episode at the 'Star Wars' Celebration Day in 2015, as well as an unfinished version of 'A Distant Echo' — the second episode of the season.

Fans have been waiting for these episodes for a while, and the resolution to the many plot threads of the first six seasons of 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' is almost here.

The series is set between the events of 'Attack of the Clones' and 'Return of the Jedi,' and this final season is set to bring the Clone Wars to the point of the Clone Army's inevitable betrayal on the orders of Emperor Palpatine, wiping out the Jedi Order.

'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Season 7 features Matt Lanter as Anakin Skywalker, Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka Tano, Dee Bradley Baker as Captain Rex and various other clone troopers, James Arnold Taylor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan, and Sam Witwer as Darth Maul. It releases on Disney+ on Friday, February 21.
