#StandWithSophie: Texas girl's father urges Donald Trump to help him get custody of 'abused' daughter
Michael Long, the father of troubled nine-year-old Sophie Long of Frisco, Texas, has appealed to President Donald Trump to intervene in his daughter's custody battle.
"Dear @realDonaldTrump, As a Father to a Daughter, I’m sure you can appreciate my dilemma. I need your help Sir. Will you help me #standwithsophie? #savethechildren," Long wrote on Twitter, sharing a picture of his beloved nine-year-old strumming a guitar next to a Trump 2020 flag.

Long's plea came shortly after bombshell claims made by the nine-year-old when she confided in her family during a hospital visit earlier this week. Sophie alleged she was sexually assaulted by Jake Bellington, her mother Kelly Marie Mitton's boyfriend, and two other men in a hotel room while she was in her mom's custody last week. She also alleged that a police officer assigned for her safety checked only with her mother and never entered the room.
Sophie's distraught father subsequently took to a Facebook group dedicated to Sophie and accused the authorities of lying to him about her safety. "I would like to personally thank the agencies involved with protecting children and assuring their safety in our absence through this process," Long began. "You have gone above and beyond to show how credible your words and assurances are."
He continued, "Congratulations on completely removing any last inkling of hope I had in your ability to protect her. She wasn’t safe. You said she was. You either lied or you were delivered a script from an authority above."
"So, what am I to do? You failed my daughter. You failed my little girl who trusted me when I told her that police were good and that we weren't the only ones who cared about her. You failed your city. You failed yourself by promising an oath you couldn't keep. How do you sleep at night knowing that this is going on?" In conclusion, Long demanded "explanations or resignations. Now! And not behind closed doors. To the public you serve."
A GoFundMe page, set up by Sophie's stepmother Kourtney Chalmers, has claimed that the little girl has stated numerous times that she has been a victim of molestation, grooming, and domestic violence at her mother's home. "Sophie, 9 years old, has disclosed she has been continuously subjected to domestic violence, sexual grooming, and most recently molestation/rape in her primary residence. Her father is fighting for her life while her abusers pull every resource to get their hands back on her. The biological mother, according to Sophie, is a part of the sexual abuse and is encouraging it," the fundraiser stated.
“We have been dealing with CPS, Law Enforcement, Lawyers, DFPS, Forensic interviews and several doctors that are helping with Sophie's recent medical issues in her private areas and as a resolute of the assault by her mother and grandmother in this video," it continued. "She is desperate to be saved from that environment and we are desperate to help her. She states her life has been threatened by these people and she is afraid, but has a brave heart and wants to help her brothers get away from the abuse too."
