Patricia and Mark McCloskey, the St Louis couple who had pointed guns at protesters will speak at the Republican National Convention next week. The pair are scheduled to appear virtually at the convention to show their support for POTUS Donald Trump, said reports. According to a Trump adviser, the participation and speech of the McCloskeys were confirmed with the news initially revealed by The Washington Post.

The couple had made headlines after they were seen in a viral video taken on June 28 holding a weapon outside their palatial home as protesters marched down a private road. The homeowners had disputed reports, which said the protests had been 'peaceful'.

Mark, who was carrying an AR-15, and Patricia, who was carrying a handgun, are both personal injury lawyers who run the McCloskey Law Center from inside their five-floor palatial home. The man who filmed the McCloskey's brandishing their guns at the peaceful protesters spoke to MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) said they had been speaking out against St Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson after she outed the names of those who had called for the defunding of police.

"This specific march was in part to demonstrate against Mayor Krewson’s awful doxxing of St Louis residents that oppose her use of the city’s budget to enrich the police department," he said. "Please share that this is happening only because we as community members are marching to demand safety, security, and fair treatment for our black community members."

In July, the couple was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, which is a class E felony. As reported by CNN, the White House has defended the pair several times and the White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany had told reporters at the time that Trump "said it is absolutely absurd, what is happening to the McCloskeys."

The two were seen on Fox News' 'Hannity' and shared that protesters had returned to their neighborhood recently but that they had been alerted in advance and hired a private security company in order to protect their residence. During the incident that took place in June, Patricia said the couple was scared when around dinnertime around "300-500" people entered the gated community where they lived.

Patricia said, "[They said] that they were going to kill us. They were going to come in there. They were going to burn down the house. They were going to be living in our house after I was dead, and they were pointing to different rooms and said, 'That’s going to be my bedroom and that’s going to be the living room and I’m going to be taking a shower in that room’."

The pair also said the protesters had threatened to harm their dog who was outside the home at the time. According to protesters, they had been passing the couple's home and heading towards the home of Mayor Lyda Krewson to carry out their demonstration there.

We had earlier reported that Mark could be heard yelling, "Private property! Private property, get out!" at some of the protesters while holding his weapon alongside his wife Patricia who was also holding a weapon.
