Who is Nadia Parkes? Meet Tom Holland's new girlfriend and lockdown romance partner
Two days ago, MailOnline reported that 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' actor Tom Holland officially has a girlfriend — the star is dating actress Nadia Parkes. Holland, 23, shot to fame as he joined the Marvel franchise in films such as 'Captain America: Civil War', 'Spider-Man Homecoming ' and 'Avengers: Infinity War'. Turns out that the Marvel universe tough guy has a real-world lady love. Here is what we know about Nadia Parkes.
Parkes is an actress and is known for her roles as Claire Clairmont in 'Doctor Who' (2020), Rosa de Vargas in TV mini-series 'The Spanish Princess' (2019) and 'Red Carpet Report' (2009). The actress is a proud graduate from London's LAMDA drama school in the spring of 2018 and her Twitter bio showcases her spirit. "Actor. LAMDA Grad @SpanishPrincess," it reads. While her big break was with 'The Spanish Princess,' Parkes was extremely excited to be a part of the 'Doctor Who' cast in an episode that aired in February this year. On the podcast, 'What They Don't Tell You About', in November 2019, Parkes told Grace McGovern, "Honestly, it was like — I was obsessed with it (Doctor Who) when I was 12 years old. It was literally a young me’s dream."
While her acting dream had come true, the actress had revealed to McGovern this past November about working at a special needs school, helping out the children there as she had no roles for 10 months after 'The Spanish Princess'. She also spoke about the reality of auditioning. "Have been going up for incredible roles — but up against people that have been in the industry for much longer than me and who have worked a lot more than me and I’ve often missed out on roles because of profile (having more credits and roles). So it’s a difficult one... If you don’t give me the experience, how am I going to get it?"
It was reported that Parkes had met Holland through mutual friends Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, although there is no confirmation from the 'Game of Thrones' star or the 'Sucker' singer. With Holland now taken, some fans may be disappointed but it's nice to see the actor happy. Although, if you remember, he did reveal to Elle in July 2019 that he was a "relationship person" and isn't interested in "flings".
MailOnline had reported that the duo, who are spending the lockdown together in Hollands London home, has been dating "for over three months". The publication also further revealed that a source told them, "It was early days for Tom and Nadia when the lockdown was announced in London. They made the decision to isolate together and things have been going great between them. Tom has told friends and family they're in an official relationship and living together so soon into their romance has only made them stronger." Neither Holland nor Parkes have said anything on the matter.
