Hutchinson and Miller, Jenkins said, departed the reception just before 10pm to return to their Airbnb. On the cart with them were two more family members. Jenkins said, "And the sirens started. And the sirens kept going, and the sirens didn't stop. My mom said, 'Something happened to Sam,' not knowing anything," per WCNC.
Her misgivings turned out to be true. Miller's family said that a driver traveling at 65 mph rear-ended the couple's golf cart. Jenkins and her mother rushed to the location as soon as they learned what had transpired. "My mom and I ran holding hands. Not wearing shoes, a bra, or anything else but screaming, 'Sammy!'" Jenkins reportedly said.
