Softball coach charged with assault after "charging like a bull" at grandmother videotaping his abusive son
Texas law enforcement authorities are looking for a softball coach after he allegedly attacked a grandmother who started recording his teenage son, who she claims was constantly cursing and disrupting the game.
During a tournament game late Saturday at Dyess Park in Cypress, James Schmidt, a coach with the Cy-Fair Texas Sting softball league, allegedly lunged towards Donna Edwards, 60, and knocked her to the ground. At the time, her granddaughter had been playing on another field in the same park, the New York Post reports.
Just moments prior to the alleged attack, Edwards had entered the field to find out who was cursing loudly and disrupting the game. In a bid to record evidence, she started recording the incident on her cellphone so she could share the video later with team organizers for the Cy-Fair Intruders.
