Why was Romy Mars grounded?

Mars, the eldest daughter of Coppola and Thomas, revealed that she had been grounded for trying to rent a helicopter with her father's credit card. She stated, "Make a vodka-sauce pasta with me because I'm grounded because I tried to charter a helicopter from New York to Maryland on my dad’s credit card because I wanted to have dinner with a camp friend."

In an effort to prepare pasta, Mars admitted that she didn't "know the difference between a garlic and an onion," so she "had to Google images of onions on [her] phone." She claimed to have felt "embarrassed" by the disclosure.

Mars stated, "Also, I thought I would do this since I'm already grounded since my parents' biggest rule is, like, I'm not allowed to have any public social media accounts." She said, "Here's why," while holding up the Grammy that Thomas and his French indie pop band, 'Phoenix', had received in 2010.

Mars said that her parents "don't want [her] to be a nepotism kid," before asserting that "TikTok is not gonna make [her] famous, so it doesn’t really matter." She then questioned, "Is this an onion?" while holding out what appeared to be a shallot. She added, "Because I feel like this doesn’t look like an onion."

In the closing scene, Mars introduced her followers to her babysitter's boyfriend, who was petting the family dog, a Golden Retriever. Mars, who has a 12-year-old sister named Cosima, explained, "My parents are never home, so these are my replacement parents," and claimed that she "almost burned the house down" while cooking this one time.
