Is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez future POTUS? Internet says 'waiting for 2024 when hopefully she'll be the one'
Democratic representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was re-elected to a second term in the US House of Representatives. Ocasio-Cortez was dubbed the winner by The Associated Press as she defeated her Republican challenger, John Cummings, after taking a 40% point lead with two-thirds of the vote counted. As the presidential election 2020 carries on, tension grows over who will emerge the winner, incumbent President Donald Trump or Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden.
While social media remains enthralled and engaged with the election, many have taken to platforms such as Twitter to suggest that Ocasio-Cortez should definitely consider running for the president in 2024. One user wrote, "Waiting for 2024 when hopefully she'll be the one #ElectionDay #AOC." Another added, "She needs a bit more experience so maybe a term as governor or in the senate first. Go, AOC, go!" Yet another commented, "i want to give her like two more terms in congress first tho she is a powerhouse but she’s a still a junior congresswoman, i think if she’s a little patient ab when she runs she can win in a landslide."

Recently, Ocasio-Cortez took offense over Biden's campaign's distant and somewhat "tense" relationship with Latino voters. According to a Politico report, Biden has not only failed to reach out to them but as also not rectified "his connection to the Obama administration's aggressive deportation policy". It is said that approximately 32 million Latinos are eligible to vote in the US as of this fall which makes them the largest non-White voting category. These votes are crucial to Biden, especially in flippable states such as Arizona and Texas. However, the Biden team has not acknowledged this fact.
Ocasio-Cortez had taken to her Twitter handle to retweet an article about the same and had captioned it, "We have work to do." Many social media users seemed to be in agreement with her statement. One such user shared, "I do NOT get how people do not understand this. You simply CANNOT lump the Cuban-Americans in with Puerto Ricans." Another added, "Speaking as a Cuban-American resident of Miami, Dems do NOT understand that there is no such thing as the “Latino” community. They utterly failed to explain to Cubans and Venezuelans how Biden is not a socialist. Cubans, Mexicans, Venezuelans, Dominicans, and all different."
"I believe it has to do with a lot more factors than just lack of attention, a division based on colorism and racism has been further created. We must push back on the false information being fed to us by the right. The fear mongering I’ve seen on latino news outlets is insane," yet another added.

Another user, who echoed the same sentiments, commented, "Considering Latinos are one of the quickest growing demographics, the lack of attention is mind boggling." Another user chimed in, "We need to message Latinos with Latino/Hispanics more.... the core values that aren’t addressed are Faith, Citizenship pathways, and Correct Education. I’m a first natural born American in my family and these were/are barriers that aren’t addressed."
