Spoilers for ‘Snowpiercer’ Season 2 Finale Part 2
Season 2 of ‘Snowpiercer’ is coming to an end and the viewers are eagerly waiting for the two-hour finale. The stage is set for a thrilling finale with a lot of slambang action. However, the only person missing from all the action is Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly).
Melanie leaves the train when she gets to know that the world is miraculously warming and the people on Snowpiercer have a chance of colonizing the planet once again. But, it isn’t as easy as it sounds. Melanie made the strenuous trek to a nearby research station to search for Earth hotspots in the season’s sixth episode, titled ‘Many Miles from Snowpiercer’.

Unfortunately, she was once again separated from her daughter Alex (Rowan Blanchard) because she was unable to reboard the train. Melanie was left alone at the side of the tracks. A few days later, Snowpiercer launches their first weather balloon. After a series of intense moments, Melanie makes contact with it, proving that she had survived her trip to the research station.
During part one of the finale, we see a voice coming from the radio situated in the main engine of the Snowpiercer. The voice says, “Hello? Is anybody there?” One of the engineers present in the main engine hears her voice and quickly turns off the radio so that Wilford doesn’t get an idea that Melanie is still alive.
Melanie’s voice gives the viewers an idea that her injuries have finally recovered and she is waiting for Snowpiercer to rescue her. However, Wilford has different plans.
Will Melanie be able to make it back to the train?
Melanie is one of the main protagonists of the show and people certainly want to see her back boarding the train. We think Melanie has been facing her demons since she got off the train. She might have even got to the point where she considered suicide. I mean, we have seen the researchers opting for suicide or even cannibalism. The ultimate showdown is going to happen in ‘Snowpiercer’ Season 2 finale and it will be an intense one.
The finale could also see Melanie taking big strides in her research and find something that could change the fate of humanity. The new discovery is likely to be uncovered in the two-hour finale and it will be something that is undoubtedly going go to play a significant role in the next installment.
So, Melanie’s death might not be on the cards. But, we can only be sure about it when we see the finale.
