'Snowpiercer' Season 2 Finale: Is Melanie still alive? Here's why fans believe she will be back in Season 3
With the season finale for ‘Snowpiercer’ approaching fast, fans have started to speculate what would happen to their beloved characters when the show returns for a two-hour finale on Monday, March 29, at 9 pm. People want Layton (Daveed Diggs) and Ruth Wardell (Alison Wright) to form an alliance and takedown Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean). However, there are many who want to see Melanie on the train once again.
Melanie has been one of the strongest characters on the show and people fell in love with her how she managed to take control of the train when Wilford was nowhere to be seen. She has made sacrifices that others haven’t and spent most of her life in engineering the train. She is the true mastermind behind the train’s design.

Melanie is cunning and if anything brings her down she always finds a loophole to get around it. Aboard the train, she takes the position of Head of Hospitality which gains her a great reputation aboard the train as well as making new or keeping friends.
Apart from being the Head of Hospitality, she has been doing a lot of research about various places on the planet that might be habitable. But things have slightly changed after she failed to board the train in the sixth episode and made her way to the research station for collecting the data.
Viewers know that it won’t be easy for her to survive the cold for too long if she fails to board the train this time around. However, there are many reasons why people believe that killing the character might not be good for the show.
“I am not too worried about Melanie, she is the star of the show and the show will probably have more seasons. I also do not think they would introduce Alexandra to kill her the same season,” one fan posted on Reddit.
Another Redditor said, “I hope they do not kill Audrey, she is one of the most interesting for me and I think she can develop more. I still do not see this show surviving without Melanie, the other characters are still not strong enough to carry the show without her.”
“Melanie is the strongest character on this show. Although I think Alex will "replace" her in a certain way in the future. I still don't see her ready for such prominence,” a third post read.
Another person wrote on YouTube, “Melanie will likely be the leader again. However, she is the one leading a crusade to have humanity step outside once more.”
“Shit went downhill without Melanie in a month, they would be popsicles by now without her in 7 years,” read another comment.
