'Saturday Night Live' will feature Talking Heads frontman David Byrne and Grammy-winning R&B pop star The Weeknd in the upcoming episodes.

On February 29, comedian and 'Sack Lunch Bunch' co-star John Mulaney will host the night's episode with Byrne as the musical guest. Byrne's appearance on 'SNL' comes after his five-month Broadway residency of 'American Utopia'. This is Byrne's first solo visit to the show since he performed two songs from his 'Rei Momo' LP in a 1989 episode which had Woody Harrelson as host.

On March 7, The Weeknd will perform as the musical guest with Daniel Craig set as host for the episode. These announcements were made on the comedy sketch show's Twitter on February 6.

This weekend will have Justin Bieber performing on 'SNL' with first-time host RuPaul. 'SNL' will be on a two-week hiatus before the episode with Mulaney and Byrne.

Uncut Gems star Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, recently made the late-night TV rounds to promote his new singles 'Blinding Lights' and 'Heartless'.

Season 45 of the show has featured numerous big names as musical guests, including Luke Combs, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Camila Cabello, Halsey, Lizzo, Harry Styles (who also hosted), Chance the Rapper (also hosted), DaBaby, Niall Horan and King Princess.

This will be Mulaney's third appearance on the show. Craig will return for his second appearance in the March episode. This is also The Weeknd's third performance on the show.

In an Instagram post, Mulaney posted a signed letter from Lorne Michaels which explains to fans why Mulaney had to reschedule his February 28 show in Toronto so that he could host 'SNL'.

"My Fellow Canadians, I hope you will forgive John Mulaney for having to reschedule his February 28th show in Toronto so that he can host Saturday Night Live that weekend," the letter says.

“I think considering the state of affairs that this country is in, the need for John is greater in New York right now. John was fully prepared for Toronto and feels deep regret to have to postpone for a third time, but he was drafted by SNL." It goes on to add, "Yes, we still have the draft here. He is simply doing his duty, and there is nothing more Canadian than that. My apologies, Lorne Michaels."

Mulaney added that he is "terribly sorry to move the show again", which will now be on April 10, and that he "will be there no matter what". "I love you Toronto I hope you know that I won’t let you down again," he said. "Also I’m afraid of Lorne so I do what he says."
