Wellness has become increasingly popular due to social media, which encourages mindless scrolling. TikTok users claimed to have discovered the remedy to the lethargy and constant tiredness from the daily grind. It's termed "slow living," and the hashtag 'slowliving' has garnered over 500 million views.

The trend urges people to "live consciously," strive for a better work-life balance and make more time for introspection. It's critical to take care of yourself and make time for yourself. Pick a physical activity to do this, and get your family and friends involved. Spend a moment being mindful and rewarding yourself. This may be calming and rejuvenating. You can check out more videos of the trend here.

Why is 'Slow Living' becoming popular?

The 'slowliving' trend encourages people to put aside outside expectations, pursue their passions and take things a little more slowly to be more present in each and every moment.

Instead of acting on what they think other people want them to, it enables people to make their own decisions. The 'slowliving' videos on TikTok are also deliberately styled to look a specific way, filled with greenery and earthy tones, states IMPAKTER.

Ways to practice slow living

Renee Benes, a 37-year-old minimalist lifestyle consultant from Minneapolis, acknowledged that her life used to be constantly hectic and centred around work, leaving her with very little time to spend with her husband and two children.

In 2014, Benes became aware of her need for a less hectic lifestyle and for the opportunity to spend time with her family rather than working non-stop and feeling stressed, Newsweek reported. She has also shared ways to practice slow living on her youtube chanel.

A report by Happier Human stated the ways of slow living. Here are a few of them listed for your convinience:

1. Set up a specific period of time to check your computer and phone, and don't use them after that.

2. Make a commitment to spending time in nature at least three to four days a week because we rarely have the chance to do so. Watch nature, breathe in the clean air, savour the tranquilly of the water and the vegetation, and build stronger bonds with others.

3. Make a conscious decision to accomplish less by reevaluating your "to-do" list. Instead of attempting to finish 50 chores in a single day, concentrate on the things that are crucial and must be done.

4. It's critical to take care of yourself and make time for yourself. Pick a physical activity to do this, and get your family and friends involved. Spend a moment being mindful and rewarding yourself. This may be calming and rejuvenating.
