Love it or hate it, but TikTok is a platform hard to overlook! With TikTok trends becoming more popular daily, the challenge has become a new rage on the platform. While people still think of it as a Gen Z platform for  challenges related to dance or music, TikTok has grown to encompass every kind of content and community.

While many people showcase their talent, creativity and humour on the platform, the Foopah Challenge is about women flashing their privates for a split second. The idea first became popular when TikTok user @oopsfoopahhhh posted a video of carrying out the trend. Hence, the challenge is also known as Foopah Trend.

All about Foopah trend

To clear up any confusion, the videos of Foopah trend are shot in such a way that the action only lasts for a fraction of a second, typically in the form of a far-off reflection in a mirror, making it impossible for TikTok to flag the material. By exposing their breasts in a mirror's reflection, hiding themselves behind a door window, utilising coloured lighting to obfuscate the image, and more, creators participating in the Foopah challenge are escaping TikTok restrictions .

These techniques seem to be avoiding TikTok’s automatic moderation. However, viewers still have the choice to report these kind of videos manually and then it can be assessed by TikTok staff. This is what actually is happening! It’s likely only a matter of time before action is taken against the accounts violating TikTok’s Terms of Service.

Since then, a number of people have joined the trend. Even if the majority of these films aim to attract more viewers and acquire more traction, TikTok cannot flag them.

Tiktok users criticize trend

Several users of the famous app have been posting their shocking responses to the trend at the same time, and many others are finding it offensive and filthy. It did not take long for others to criticize the trend. Many argued that the app is being consumed by teenagers and this form of content must be strictly banned from the app.

'That's disgusting and ridiculous'

Due to how active youngsters are on the platform these days, people specially parents have also highlighted their concerns. They are concerned that as a result, the fashion may be risky and unsuitable for them.

Let’s have a look at some of the reactions.

INEQE safeguarding group said, "We find it deeply concerning that users are posting explicit content and attempting to avoid detection and moderation by TikTok."

A user wrote, "I hope everyone one of these people doing the #flashingtrend on @tiktok_us @TikTokSupport

are charged with distributing pornography to minors. This is ridiculous and something needs to be done."

Other user wrote, "Message to parents- Be wary of your children's use of TikTok and the 'Foopah' challenge. A message to parents to be wary of your children's use of TikTok and the 'Foopah' challenge."
