ARLINGTON, TEXAS - Arlington Police (APD) are currently investigating an alleged shooting at Six Flags Over Texas amusement park in Arlington, Texas. The shooting came to light after multiple users on Twitter reported hearing gunshots. As of now, no injuries have been reported and APD confirmed that there is no active shooter on the scene. Multiple officers responded at 8.27 pm to the alleged shooting, which has now reportedly closed the park.

Within minutes of the shooting, images of people hiding from the shooter made their way to Twitter. There were reportedly multiple gunshots fired in the parking lot, but it is unclear as of now if that is the case. We are also not sure if the suspects have been taken into custody.

Shots fired claim visitors

The first person to tweet about the shooting claimed, "I just saw a guy take out his gun and fire at someone it was a group of 5-6. Police came and looks like they’ve cuffed quite a few. Right in front of the park by pick up and drop off."

The user claimed "there were definitely two shooters" and shared a video claiming to show the police arresting suspects. However, the footage does not appear to show the police, only the patrol vehicles. MEAWW has not been able to verify if any suspects were indeed taken into custody.

Another user claimed to have crossed an injured person. They tweeted in response to APD's update, "What about the lady on her side in the middle of the street not moving?!? We ran past her and people were standing around her!!! My kids are traumatized. It was their first time at @SixFlagsOverTX now I have to console them and explain this trauma #pissed and scared mom."

Another user shared an image of people hiding from the shooter. It is unclear where they are hiding, but it appears to be a storeroom at the park.

A user, who claims their mother is a manager at the park tweeted, "My mom is a manager at six flags and she told me that the park is clear and that they are closing and sending everyone home no further details have been discussed"

The park reportedly has just one metal detector and does not have a mandatory bag check policy. Six Flags is yet to put out a formal statement about the incident. Until the police confirm further details, this is all we know. It is unclear how many shooters were present and if anyone was injured in the incident.

We will update this story with more information and latest developments
