Spoilers for 'Sistas' Season 2

The BET drama 'Sistas' began its second season with a two-hour, two-episode premiere of 'A Lonely Road' and 'High Crimes'. The series moved forward from where it stopped in its debut season and delivered an intense and exciting season two starter. While Twitter blew up with fans live-tweeting during the show, we couldn't help but notice that the premiere didn't just focus on one character or one relationship, rather it gave each character a push forward into the upcoming season. This, of course, was aided by the fact that they had two episodes to do so, but it was still impressive. Fans were able to, yet again, invest in these characters' stories especially since they've waited a while to see them back on screen. While we aren't big fans of the acting per se, the soap opera aspect of dishing out drama at every turn definitely made for a riveting two-hour premiere.

Speaking about both episodes together, they focused on what fans would call the "stupidity" of Andrea 'Andi' Barnes (Kj Smith) after she found out her man Gary Marshall Borders (Chido Nwokocha) was involved in money fraud and embezzlement. The premiere saw her break up with Gary, only for her to desperately want to talk to him when he called Karen Mott's (Ebony Obsidian) trying to explain that he's being set up and has done nothing wrong. If you've watched the series, Gary has always been a little shady and it wasn't right of Andi to get involved with a married man - a fact Daniella 'Danni' King (Mignon) so bluntly called out. The episode sees the consequences of Andi's actions, as it turns out that she's being dragged through the mud for her involvement with Gary. The FBI is not only combing through her home, but also her workplace. On the other hand, she's even got her friend Sabrina Hollins (Novi Brown) involved, because of a wire transfer of $14 million.

We do not understand that after Gary lied to Andi about his wives, tried to isolate her from her closest supporters and transferred a huge chunk of money to her account without her knowledge - why would she go back with him? Andi's plotline is a relatable one, as women (and men) do find themselves in situations where they don't know if they should believe the one they love or be accept the reality being presented to them. We have to say that Andi is becoming really annoying and we hope that in this season she makes better choices.

Another awkward but hilarious narrative was that was Zac (Devale Ellis) and Karen's, who although not together, seemed to be in a confusing relationship. If there was anything that this premiere showed about Zac is that while he still may be a playboy, he does love Karen. Even after getting stabbed at Karen's home, he goes back there to clean up his own blood after being released from the hospital. It's a weird dynamic because although Zac tells Karen that he loves her, he does end up flirting with a cop making us wonder if Karen should just move on. Not to mention, the stabbing that happened in her home also involved shooting and Zac found out that the police are looking at it as a homicide. Karen, literally, spent the entire two-hour premiere in bloody clothes.

The center of the entire premiere ends up being Sabrina's living room as the girls sit down and try to figure out all that has happened. Danni, we have to say, not only continues to steal our hearts with her "real" attitude, but her playful character brings charm to a scary situation for Andi and Sabrina. There is a chance that Sabrina may lose her job.

The drama has always had twists and turns, as expected from showrunner Tyler Perry, and we have to say that the two-hour premiere focusing on all the main characters allowed the series to set up a great foundation for the rest of the season. It wasn't a dull debut to Season 2 and was definitely enjoyable. We can't wait for next week.

'Sistas' Season 2 airs on Wednesdays on BET at 9 pm EST.
