Kacey Musgraves warns fans against voting for Trump as ‘that’s an act of violence' toward LGBTQ+ community

Country star Kacey Musgraves has taken a hit at President Donald Trump as the 2020 election is approaching. She shared a message for her fans and followers on Twitter that read, “If you love an LGBTQ+ person and you’re planning on voting for Donald Trump in November, that’s an act of violence against them.” Musgraves also captioned the message for her 900,000 followers and wrote: “To each their own but know what your vote means.”

But her tweet did not go down well with some people on Twitter as one commented, “F*ck you @KaceyMusgraves I love my LGBTQ friends and family. President Trump is pro-LGBTQ.” “What about the people in the LGBTQIA+ community that are gonna vote for trump. What do you have to say to them?” a second user asked while another one said: “This is the dumbest tweet I’ve seen. It’s actually embarrassing because you have no CLUE what Trump has done for the LGBT community, but think you are “woke”. Yikes!”

“This is false. Trump has been a fantastic leader for LGBT people. He supported us before office and has continued doing so ever since. Trump made history appointing the first gay person to a cabinet position and has launched an effort to decriminalize homosexuality worldwide,” added the fourth user.

Earlier also, the 32-year-old has taken a stand against the POTUS. In August 2019, Musgraves slammed Trump after deadly mass shootings in Texas’ El Paso and Dayton, Ohio. At the time, Musgraves tweeted, “Don’t you hear us, @realDonaldTrump? Don’t you hear our pain? You have the power to become a hero. Why don’t you take it?” In another tweet, the ‘Follow Your Arrow’ singer added: “For a man who clearly loves being well-liked, it’s indescribably mind-numbing to see him blatantly and murderously ignore doing ONE THING that would not only make people happy but would SAVE PEOPLE’S LIVES. True leaders don’t stand back and watch the world burn. @realDonaldTrump”.

Musgraves’ latest tweet came after earlier in August, she confirmed she has new music in the works. The ‘High Horse’ singer responded to a fan on Twitter. The fan asked her, “Hey @KaceyMusgraves I know damn well you have some bops just chillin in your custody. Pls give me a crumb of happiness bby” to which she replied: “I do".

Her response led to a number of comments from her other fans. "Don’t be shy share them," tweeted a fan while another wrote, "Pls help my depression." One fan said, "STOP PLAYING." Another wrote, "ITS NOT A WANT ITS A NEED AT THIS POINT."

Musgraves’ fourth and latest album was 'Golden Hour' for which she also received the Grammy Album of the Year Award in 2019. As reported by Newsweek, Musgraves said: "I don't think I have the human capacity to really put into words just how unbelievable the past chapter has been I just never dreamed it would be received in such a way."

She added, “As an artist, you hope that it will be received positively, but that's not why you make what you're making...it felt really good. It was a little bit of a change for me, and I was excited about that. But it's opened up a million little portholes to new worlds that I never thought were possible."
