LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Showrunner Joe Cornish presents a cautious update on 'Lockwood & Co' Season 2 in a recent interview. When questioned about the likelihood of a Season 2, Cornish was non-committal and preferred to concentrate on the success of Season 1 and the present.

Netflix's supernatural thriller centers on two teenagers involved in a mysterious world, Anthony Lockwood (Cameron Chapman) and George Karim (Ali Hadji-Heshmati). With the aid of their new friend and psychically gifted girl Lucy Carlyle (Ruby Stokes), the two set out to solve the mystery of the phantom problem. Season 1 came to a dramatic conclusion with Lockwood preparing to unveil what is concealed behind his "secret" door.

Cornish Joe Cornish speaks out about 'Lockwood & Co' Season 2

When questioned about the likelihood of a Season 2, Cornish preferred to concentrate on the success of Season 1 and the present. He said, "Right, well listen, I'm not going to get caught up in the whole, “Is there/isn't there going to be a Season 2?” We drive ourselves crazy. We just have to be super proud of what we've done. We really appreciate the fact, particularly, that fans of the book are recognizing the world that was in their imagination up on the screen. I just want to be proud and happy for the actors, for all the incredible technicians, everybody who worked on the show that made it good, and that so many people dig it," as per Collider.

What would 'Lockwood & Co' Season 2 look like?

Season 2 of 'Lockwood & Co' may begin with the beginning of book 3— 'The Hollow Boy' — since Season 1 ends in the same manner as ook 2— 'The Whispering Skull'. As the season came to a close, the largest puzzle of the first season—what lies behind Lockwood's secret door—was about to be answered. The door, which was left to Lockwood by his dead parents and is in his home, contains secrets about his past. He was finally prepared to reveal what was hidden behind the secret door in the Season 1 finale. Lockwood has been reluctant to talk about his background up until now, but Season 2 may see him finally ready to do so.

'The Hollow Boy' exposes Lockwood's tragic past and explains what is behind the hidden door. Season 2 of 'Lockwood & Co' might delve into his past to explain his selfless character and the source of his enthusiasm for ghost hunting. According to 'The Hollow Boy', Jessica, who was killed by a ghost while purging her parents' possessions after their death, was the owner of the hidden room. As a result of his refusal to assist, Lockwood will have to deal with the consequences of his choices, both literally and figuratively opening the door to his emotional past.
