‘Shark Tank’ Season 11 Episode 13: Fans criticize ‘Fur Oil’ for being 'tacky' and call it a 'crazy' idea

As siblings Laura and Emily Schubert present their innovative personal care product to the sharks, fans call out on the functionality of the product

Many weeks ago, serial investor and celebrated entrepreneur Mark Cuban had made a statement over a product pitch. He said, “The corniest ideas can also make a lot of money”. Every now and then, his statement is proven right.

Take Episode 13 of Season 11 of ‘Shark Tank’ for instance. In the all-new episode of the popular business reality show, we saw a product that might be innovative, but is quite a wild idea, if one has to consider. Sibling duo Laura and Emily Schubert pitched their product ‘Fur Oil’ to the sharks.

In case you missed that presentation, it is a personal care product that has multipurpose usage. The all-natural oil softens hair and clears pores from the eyebrows down to the pubic area. It also doubles as a cuticle softener, split-end repairer, post-tattoo care, scalp conditioner, and bath oil.

Sounds fancy right? But not what fans think.

One fan makes fun of the product, not just for what it is but also for its price tag. He says, “$37-$46 for pubic hair oil sounds crazy to me, but them saying they already did $5 million last year just reminded me there's a market for almost anything lol. #SharkTank”

The product has also raised questions on hygiene practices among some people. “People are already hygienically-challenged. Now they're adding #FurOil to their pubic hairs?! Can you say, "build-up of greasy, sweaty, pissy, goodness!" Ugh, gross! Face with rolling eyesFace with rolling eyesFace with rolling eyes #SharkTank," says one fan.

Another user cannot believe that such a product even made it to the show.“#SharkTank is now featuring a product for pubic hair and has a narrator giving a play-by-play of the negotiations? WTF is happening to this show?”

We could not agree more. While some of the products pitched on the show are genuinely creative and useful and make it worthwhile for the sharks to invest, there are some quirky products like these, which might seem fancy on the outside, but do not generate common public interest and make people cringe.
