When Peter Arlein stepped on the ‘Shark Tank’ stage, not many thought he could grab a deal. In Season 12 Episode 12, the entrepreneur of MountainFLOW Eco Wax from Carbondale, Colorado, showed the Sharks how they can shred the slopes sustainably with his eco-friendly product.

Born and raised on skis, he closely understood the challenges when he became a ski instructor and a member of the ski patrol. With over 100 backers, he managed to raise over $6,300 within 24 hours of its kickstarter campaign. By the end of it, he had 358 backers and raised $215,000. On ‘Shark Tank’, he came with an ask of $250,000 investment for a 10 percent stake.

With a face that instantly springs back memories of Super Mario, Peter grabbed all the attention. How did he then make Kevin O'Leary and Barbara Corcoran compete and fight for the deal? Here's what really happened.

When three Sharks said yes!

Peter's pitch fascinated the Sharks but Lori Greiner gave a thumbs down saying it wasn't the "right investment" for her. Mark Cuban too said no but Peter added, "We might have to take you skiing." Mark then cheerily said he would love to buy the product when he goes skiing.

When it was Barbara Corcoran's turn, she offered him a $250,000 investment for 20 percent. Meanwhile, Kevin O'Leary offered to take it for a 15 percent investment. Barbara was quick to jump in and say Kevin was upset that she dropped him from a partnership deal and then the two offered a deal together for a 20 percent stake. At that very moment, Daymond John too expressed interest but he said he would only go with a 25 percent stake.

How MountainFLOW deal went from $250,000 to $300,000

A tough nut to crack, Peter wasn't ready to go with either of the deals and said 20 percent was too much. Kevin then tried to convince him saying, "Just think about the value of two Sharks who love skiing. We are going to have competitions. We are already having it." Amid all the confusion, Daymond jumped in again and offered to take a 15 percent stake or a 25% stake if we can get Lindsey Vonn into the deal.

Vonn is a former World Cup alpine ski racer on the US Ski Team who won four World Cup overall championships — and is one of only two female skiers to do so.

"You have three offers..." Barbara then cut in. Seeing Peter's dissatisfaction, she chimed in, "For 15 percent, I will take it. I will throw him under the bus." Kevin and Barbara then came down to 17.5% together. But Peter wasn't ready to go from 10% to more than 15%. In fact, he was leaning closer to a 16% stake. Finally, Kevin and Barbara had to give up and offer a $300,000 investment for 16%. "You got a deal," Peter finally said!

When Barbara Corcoran called him ‘goofy face’

Despite the astounding deal, fans couldn't help but talk about his striking features and that snappy comment from Barbara Corcoran when she called him "goofy face". Well, she was not the only one. One fan posted, "Is it just me or did the MountainFlow guy look like Mario Brother?"

However, many lashed out at her for calling him "goofy". "What if someone told @BarbaraCorcoran that she had a big goofy face?? It’s insulting and sexist. You’d never say that to a woman," one tweet read. Another said, "Barbara will call you ugly to your face."

"It's not good when notoriously horny @BarbaraCorcoran says you have a goofy face. #SharkTank," one fan wrote. "Very disappointed in your comments about the gentleman’s look (goofy) and stating you usually know if you would invest by how they look. How is this different from fat-shaming? #moutainflow #SharkTank," another tweet read.

Is it a success streak?

It seems many Sharks loved that deal. "Love the idea for MountainFlow EcoWax! This is a big idea. #sharktank@ABCSharkTank and Peter seems legit - and has strength of character. Wish I was in the tank and would have loved to make an offer. Congrats to @BarbaraCorcoran and @kevinolearytv! This is awesome," Daniel Lubetzy tweeted.
