Spoilers for 'Severance' Episode 6 'Hide and Seek'

Five episodes in and it's clear that Apple TV+ has brought to screens one of the best shows this year with 'Severance' managing to captivate and intrigue with every passing week.

Previously in Episode 5, we saw Dylan, Burt, and Irving stumble upon a mysterious painting called the Microdata Refinement Calamity that depicted barbaric scenes of the MDR workers murdering the O&D department workers. This in fact is part of a mysterious plan of the sly Ms Cobel. With the mystery thickening each episode, here's what happened in the sixth episode and our thoughts on it.

'Severance' Episode 1 & 2 Review: 'The Office' takes on an ominous, unsettling persona

The sixth episode begins with Cobel (Patricia Arquette) putting a key of some sort around her neck as Mr Graner (Michael Cumpsty) calls her with some bad news. He confirms the fact that Petey (Yul Vasquez) had been reintegrated and that the signature on the chip can be traced back to their company itself and to one person in particular. Meanwhile, Mark (Adam Scott) finally checks the missed calls from the mysterious cell phone left behind by Petey.

Episode 6 saw the workers of the MDR department finally start asking the right questions. Mark asks Cobel what exactly is his job and what it is that he does here invoking a furious response from her. Patricia Arquette's rough, scratchy yell in this particular scene will leave you stunned and will catch you off guard like Mark. Adam Scott gave a solid emotional performance where you could see the anger and frustration in his eyes which was immensely satisfying and it led to one of the best scenes so far. In a very f**k you manner Mark walks the whole team out the hallways to the O&D department after they are banned from leaving the room invoking a sense of unity amongst the workers. A very promising aspect is the O&D workers and MDR workers, at long last meet which leads to them sharing what little information they have, with everyone ready to explore and find out more about Lumon.

Watching Cobel and Milchick on edge due to these unexpected consequences is quite fun as they scramble to split them up. Right from Helly (Britt Lower) to Dylan (Zach Cherry) and Mark, many are drawing the line and instead of being in conflict are coming together to look for answers. Cobel may have wanted to divide them but the opposite is seen happening. Episode 6 had a much more optimistic note that foreshadows an uprising or revolt against the heads. Ending on a very exciting note that saw Mark about to get answers from the mystery caller, we cannot wait for next Friday to arrive.

'Severance' returns with a new episode each Friday on Apple TV+.
