It is highly likely that Little would have not confessed to any of his crimes if a Texas Ranger Jim Holland hadn't won over his confidence and coaxed the confessions out of him

Samuel Little, known as the most prolific serial killer in the history of the United States, is believed to have a shocking 93 victims with his criminal activities going on for almost three decades. According to Dr Angela Williamson, Little himself did not know how many people he has really killed. Investigation Discovery's 'The 93 Victims of Samuel Little' looks at the horrific case of Little and his eventual shocking confessions to the many crimes he has committed.

It is highly likely that Little would have not confessed to any of his crimes if a Texas Ranger Jim Holland hadn't won over his confidence and coaxed the confessions out of him. It was because of Holland's work that many other detectives and investigators across the country were able to close many cold cases. Among these detectives was Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Rick Bell who had got the chance to interview Little in jail. Bell had been looking into three cold cases that had taken place in Cleveland. Little had given some details on the Cleveland cases meaning he could be a potential match as the killer resulting in Bell questioning him.

Bell questioned Little on the Cleveland cases which looked at the murders of Mary Jo Peyton in 1984 as well as the 1991 killing of Rose Evans. Bell was also investigating a third case involving where the victim had not been identified but was named as Jane Doe #3. While speaking on the documentary, Bell recalls, "You definitely noticed his hands, his very large hands." They started by questioning him on the case of Mary Jo Peyton. "We could actually make sure that he was describing the way that the building looked, where his car was parked, what side he had dumped the body on," Bell said.

In this handout photo provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, serial killer Samuel Little is seen in a composite timeline of various booking photos from 1966-1995. Little, who is currently serving a life sentence, has confessed to 93 murders in 19 states over 35 years. "What's most important was if he could describe the way her body was laying," Bell shared. Little was able to accurately describe Mary Jo's resting place, something that only the killer would know. He was then shown the pictures of Rose Evans, another victim from Cleveland. When asked what he remembered about her, Little responded saying, "them eyes and that face". Upon being told the year of Evans' murder, Little recalled he had a van at the time. "Little remembers these years by the cars that he was driving," Bell shared. The last victim that Bell asked Little about was a Jane Doe. Little said that he killed a third woman in the area but was not able to identify her. Bell asked Little whether had ever shot any of the girls to which he said that "I don't get no kick out of shooting."

Little revealed he would only use his hands for strangulation. "He started talking about putting his hands on the throats of women," Bell said. Little described the act of strangulation as, "See I would never just reach and grab them around the throat. It would be like a slow build-up. It's not so panicked, so it feels good." He shared that if women asked him why he was feeling their necks, he would tell them that it turned him on. "I think about it all the time. That's why I remember because I think about all of my girls," Little said.

Bell recalled, "As he was describing that, he also had started moving his hands underneath the table, pleasing himself. I didn't recognize this but my investigator did." According to a forensic psychologist, Joni Johnston, "He continues to be sexually stimulated by violence and by reliving these things over and over again. We can absolutely assume that when he fantasizes about sex and women, he is still fantasizing about his victim." At the time Bell had enough evidence to charge him and feel comfortable that the prosecution was going to be strong. "We talked about how we had never seen anything like this. Somebody this callous, also cooperative to tell you everything he had done. You came to the realization just how ugly this all is. It is very difficult to have some time off meaning with all this."

Little faced justice for killing Mary Jo Peyton and Rose Evans and pleaded guilty. So far, he has managed to avoid the death penalty in his crimes in exchange for guilty pleas.
