Can Selena Gomez-Blackpink's 'Ice Cream' break BTS YouTube record? Selpink fans call it 'song of the year'
Selpink are all set to make all their fans groove to their upcoming single. On August 17, Blackpink and Selena Gomez dropped a couple of teasers for 'Ice Cream', the much-hyped collaboration which will arrive on August 28, 2020, at 12 am ET.
On August 21, Korean pop band BTS released their first English single 'Dynamite' that set a new YouTube record for views in the first 24 hours of release. The video gained 98.3 million views in the 24 hours after it went live on Friday breaking the record of the prior record-holder, Blackpink’s 'How You Like That,' which two months ago racked up an official tally of 86.3 million views in the first 24 hours. However, the official view count at the time of writing the article crossed 171 million.
The K-pop girls group unveiled the poster for the single featuring a pink waffle cone filled with bubblegum-hued soft-serve against a black backdrop. Along with the title, the promo piece alerts fans of the two acts that the single will be available at midnight EST/1 pm KST on the day of its release. Gomez tweeted, "Ice Cream... @BLACKPINK... SELPINK IN YOUR AREA soon... August 28," using a pair of ice-cream emojis alongside a sweet snap of herself enjoying a cone on what appears could be the set of the track's forthcoming video.
