The video, although released with a zest almost two weeks after her first video premiered on YouTube, doesn't have many takers except the BTS Army

Selena Gomez has a brand new music video for her song 'Boyfriend'.

The singer shared a fan-made version of the music video, which previously starred her.

The latest song of her album 'Rare' is now made eerier by featuring dolls in the clip. The entire music video is recreated complete with a miniature set in order to fit the dolls in the original roles.

The concept of the new music video remains the same: Selena Gomez turns men (the "wrong choices") into frogs by poisoning them with the fumes of some secret magical potion.

The video, although released with a zest almost two weeks after her first video premiered on YouTube, doesn't have many takers.

"You’re so desperate lol" one tweeted. "The video is almost as bad as your music," added another. "Ily but this creepy and it literally has no point," chimed in a user with another adding, "Girl isolation has gotten into you."

Interestingly, the music video is directed by the creators of the Instagram fan account @selenagomez.doll, who even tweeted thanking Gomez for the opportunity to showcase her work. Fans of the star think it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. "How lucky is that stan omg a dream getting to work with ur fave ooof"

But the singer continues to receive hate for it. "Ugh for one time in your life please be original at least once."

Many are mocking her for attempting to revive a failed song. "Trying so hard to revive a flop single sksksks." And so, some are even making suggestions of how the song would work. "Have your label thought about sending it to Radios and put it high on Spotify playlists idk maybe that will help???"

At the same time, BTS Army is finding similarities between some of the members of the K-Pop band and the dolls in Gomez's video. "Who came here just to see the bts dolls ? just me ?" commented one. The ARMY sat down to deduce which doll represents who. "I can't stop laughing about the BTS dolls 😂 Jin and Jungkook... At the beginning you can see Jungkook's costume so yes, the redhead is JK doll"

In fact, so much of the traction that the video received was because of the BTS Army. "Who else is here because you heard Jin and Jungkook is in here," said one. "Also, I am a huge fan of both Selena and bts, and I love this video even more for the bts dolls lol 😂💜💜💜💜" added another.

"No one: Litterally no one: Not even RMs dislike accounts: ARMYS: DHDJBFDHHCCHDBJCCHXHCHC JIN. SAVE. JIN. JUNGKOOK HELP" commented a fan on the video.

But many are disappointed it isn't a proper collaboration but only fans going berserk. "ARMY's after hearing that Jungkook's outfit from IDOL era and Jin's doll is in Selena's M/V: Goes to youtube and watches it and theorized that there's a collab happening that we dont know. BTS and Bighit after hearing it: WTF?!"
