Seeing Christeline is South African, she married Dimitri in order to stay back in the country. Seeing that Ashley and Dimitri are only spiritually married, this meant that Christeline was now his spouse by law. However, the pair soon encountered their fair share of issues, and the truth is darker than it seems. As reported by TMZ, Christeline filed a restraining order against Dimitri. She claimed that he had physically abused her over the course of their 2-year relationship and even traumatised her two daughters in the process. The report filed stated that Dimitri had woken her up by "slamming my (Christeline's) head into the headboard of the bed and he was yelling at me (Christeline)."
In the article by TMZ, Christeline recounted more abusive incidents, "He choked me during sex, even though I told him not to." She added, "The more I struggled the more he enjoyed it." She added. "I stopped saying no after a few times, because any struggle by me would prolong the sex and choking." she added. She even claimed that Ashley was also verbally and physically abusive towards her, and even threw a bottle at the back of her head and shoved her to prevent her from leaving. She was granted a restraining order by the judge, with Dimitri having to stay 100 yards away from her and her daughters.
However, the temporary restraining order was dissolved by the court when Christeline was unable to meet her meet her burden of proof. She even went on record Dimitri slammed her head into a headboard and choked her during sex against her consent, but Dimitri responded to these claims by sharing their text messages, where she admitted to enjoying it.
Their marriage came to an end in early 2021, when Dimitri filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. He also requested that she should be allowed spousal support and that no assets or debts to be divided.
