SEATTLE, WASHINGTON: A Seattle cop has apparently announced his resignation in a viral video. The police officer, whose identity is not known, reportedly told someone thought to be a Black Lives Matter (BLM) demonstrator that “I’m leaving. You guys won”.

Though the circumstances surrounding the video is not clear, the officer is seen in the clip stopping his patrol car and rolling down the window of the vehicle and asking the protester filming the video: “How’s your day going today bud?” “Not really, you're around," the man responded to which the cop said, “Well, I'm sorry for that. But don't worry man, cause guess what? I'm leaving. You guys won." “F**king two months baby, I'm out."

The man recording the exchange then asked, “You're about to resign?" and the cop confirmed, "I'm f**king gone, bro.” The protester also asked the cop, “How you feeling about that?" to which he said: “I'm feeling great. I am leaving this department. You guys won."

However, soon the protester who was recording the video realized that the officer was resigning not because of police brutality but because of BLM protesters. "So, what you're just tired of police brutality or are you tired of what's going on right now?" the man asked, to which the cop replied that he had enough of the protesters. "Oh, us... why?" but before the cop gave his answer he was seen getting out of his patrol vehicle to deal with an issue in the street.

The man behind the camera was then heard shouting and telling others that “hey, this guy says that he's resigning. Hey, he said he's tired of us. He's gonna resign because of Black Lives Matter, not because he's tired of the police." And as the cop returned to his car, the protester taunted him and said: “Hey, you triggered boy? You triggered? Oink, oink, oink, oink. F**k you and your blue life, boy.”

Amid these taunts, the officer appeared to say something about friendship, but the man responded, “Nah, we ain't never gonna be friends. We'll never see eye to eye. I don't give a f**k if you take that badge off, you'll never be my people. You'll never be my friend."

The date and place of the exchange are not known, but it went online just days after Seattle’s first black police chief, Carmen Best, announced her retirement. Best’s stepping down announcement came after the city council decided to cut the law enforcement budget by a whopping $4 million and laying off as many as 100 officers from their jobs. “I am confident the department will make it through these difficult times. You truly are the best police department in the country, and please trust me when I say, the vast majority of people in Seattle support you and appreciate you,” the police chief, who would be retiring from the force on September 2, said in an emotional letter to the department.
