'SEAL Team' Season 5 Episode 2 Spoiler: Are Jason Hayes' headaches 'mental glitches'?
One of the storylines that will be explained over the course of 'SEAL Team' Season 5 is the reason behind Jason Hayes' (David Boreanaz) headaches. The question would be is if these headaches could probably see him stripped off his title and make him take a backseat. The last few episodes saw him suffer signs of memory loss and that will surely have an impact on him and the team as they gear up for more dangerous missions.
Express speculated that Jason might be suffering from TBI (traumatic brain injury) and that he would be needing professional help. This issue just adds to the string of problems the team is trying to wrinkle out. The first episode saw Jason can physically suffer from his headaches, something Clay (Max Thieriot) worries about.

Are Jason Hayes' headaches called mental glitches?
Considering that memory loss signs are one of the worrying factors, 'mental glitches' can be a pretty accurate term. What remains unexplained is the reason. Executive producer Spencer Hudnut had earlier hinted to TVInsider about the reason behind the headaches. "We examine what years of combat in the War on Terror has done to [soldiers],” he says. For Bravo 1, Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz), the result has been debilitating headaches. “Jason keeps an eye on this situation to make sure he’s able to operate,” he added.
Boreanaz himself had shed light on the headaches ahead of the start of the new season. It’s a reminder to the audience that Jason is not this guy that can take on all this and come out perfect on the other end," he explained. "It’s a reminder of the casualties of war and how that weighs on a person who’s dealing with that."
With this, a demotion is an unlikely option as the team needs his guidance and leadership, but the headaches are still a cause for concern. In the promo, one of the team members calls it 'mental glitches', a phrase Jason repeats. Only time will tell how he grapples with the issue. The official synopsis of episode 2 'Trust, but Verify: Part 2' reads: When Bravo’s operation is compromised, they must figure out how to escape undetected from one of the most dangerous countries in the world.
