Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, and her daughter Princess Eugenie are all praise for Queen Elizabeth after she addressed the nation amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 60-year-old said that the Queen’s words "touched her core", while the granddaughter of the monarch, Princess Eugenie, thanked her for "bringing the country together".

The 93-year-old monarch addressed the UK on April 5, while promising it would rise to the challenge and overcome the outbreak. Speaking from Windsor Castle, where the 93-year-old monarch is isolating with her husband, Prince Philip, she said, “If we remain united and resolute, then we will overcome it.”

The Queen also acknowledged the suffering that many families have experienced because of the pandemic which has infected more than 48,000 people in the UK and killed close to 5,000 of them. She drew upon wisdom from her decades as Britain’s head of state to urge resolve in a time of crisis.

After the Queen’s speech, Sarah took to Instagram and posted two pictures, one is of her mother-in-law and the other one is the flag of the royal family, as she wrote, “Her Majesty’s words touched my core and inspired us to never give up. To unite as we have before. To never forget the British humor and to remember ... We should take comfort that while we may have more still to endure, better days will return: we will be with our friends again; we will be with our families again; we will meet again.”

Her social media post has since received over 19,000 likes and hundreds of comments, with followers praising the royals.

Princess Eugenie also took to Instagram to praise her grandmother. She posted the Queen's picture and wrote, “Thank you for your words, they bring us together and unite us in our effort to overcome. Her Majesty The Queen addressed the UK and Commonwealth tonight from Windsor Castle.”

The Queen’s eldest granddaughter, Zara Tindall, 38, also made her appearance on GMB to praise the speech. She said she is "very proud" of her grandmother. “I think we’re obviously very proud. And what she said is, I think, 100% what the country needed. I hope everyone listens and we can try and get back to normal and support our NHS as much as we can,”  she said while speaking via video link from her home in Gloucestershire.

The Queen’s latest intervention is only the fifth time she has addressed the nation during her 67-year reign. During the address, she also made a direct reference to her first radio broadcast in 1940, when she and her sister Margaret rallied the nation during World War II.

“Once again, many will feel a painful sense of separation from their loved ones. But now, as then, we know, deep down, that it is the right thing to do. The pride in who we are is not part of our past. It defines our present and our future,” she said.
